The Moose Hoose

The Moose Hoose is a beautiful small cottage standing alone in the glorious Slovakian country side. The cottage has 360 degree views of natural beauty, with only 7 beds we have an exceptional atmosphere in the cottage that you don't get in big hostels. With regular fires from our fire pit, bbq's and plenty of local activities there is always something to keep you occupied.

There is also an option to rent out the whole cottage for a special offer of only €400 for the week, and you can have as many guests as you wish.

Locally and within a short bus ride there are many Slovakian places of interest to visit including Stara Lubovna Castle, rafting on the Danjuec (which borders Poland and Slovakia), Levoca a local historical town, Bardejov (a Unesco site), Slovensky Raj (a beautiful national park), and many more which we will give you all the information on when you arrive.

We also offer a host of activities from the hostel including hiking, bike rides, various racket sports, and loads of board games. We have 3000 sq metres of land around the hostel so you have plenty of space to get out spend some time in one of our hammocks and suck in the fresh country side air. Within a few minutes walk from the cottage there is a bar/restaurant and hotel with many facilities including swimming pool, tennis courts, gymnasium, sauna spa area, and restaurant.

We have a fully kitted out kitchen with everything you need to prepare a banquet, the lounge has a functional log burner which with a huge wood pile we will keep you warm as toast and adds a cosy feel to the cottage. We also rent out the whole cottage to groups and families but we do need as much notice as possible to ensure it is available.

Directions

To get to us you need to get to Poprad train station then catch a bus to Stara Lubovna, the journey takes about 40 minutes from there you then need to catch a bus to a Lubovianske Kupele, this is only 6 or 7 minutes away, at the stop you then head towards 'Hotel Sorea' when you get to the entrance you will see us perched neatly up on the hill, the little white and red cottage. If you let us know your coming we will pick you up from the main road, just give us a call from Stara Lubovna. On departure we will drop you off at the nearest bus stop where you in a few minutes get to Stara Lubovna and can continue your journey onto Krakow, Kosice, Bardejov, Prague, Budapest, Vienna or Bratislava.

If you are planning to fly over there are regular flights to Poprad from Dublin, Manchester and Luton, with Danube Wings. We can make arrangements to meet you or have someone pick you up at the airoprt and take you to the cottage. We will also arrange a return trip to the airport if you wish.
