Angler & Antelope Guesthouse

The Angler and Antelope establishment comprises a guesthouse, St Francis (the culinary centre) an old church to relax, eat and drink.

A fine selection of malt whiskeys, apparently a favourite of the priests of the past, is worth sampling in the century old church.

The confessional, now a fully stocked fly shop, ensures fishermen are honest about their catches. The prespetry called the Fisherman's Cottage, a self-catering option within the huge indigenous garden offering ample secure off street parking.

The accommodation in the guesthouse consists of six luxury en-suite bedrooms, each sleeping 2. Enjoy crisp cotton percale and goosedown duvets with mohair blankets. There are three twin rooms, one double room and two rooms which can be either twin, double or family rooms, all with TV. Children under 12 are accommodated on sleeper couches in the family rooms at R 120.00 per child.

All guesthouse rooms have air conditioning for warmth in winter and cooling in summer, with the added luxury of underfloor heating in the big bathrooms. The bathrooms are something to behold, uniquely decorated featuring double vanity, bath, shower and toilet.

The self-catering Fisherman's cottage is a self contained cosy house with 3 bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, big bathroom and lounge with DSTV (you need to bring your own smart card), and it's own private garden and patio with braai facilities.

Directions

The nearest airport is in Port Elizabeth, about 1 1/2 hours away. From Port Elizabeth travel in a northerly direction toward Cradock & Cookhouse on the N10 highway. From Cookhouse, travel in a westerly direction on the R63 to Somerset East.
