Kinnitty is a picturesque village set at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in the center of Ireland. It is a great location for touring Ireland being just an hour and a half drive to Dublin, Galway, an hour from Kilkenny, Rock of Cashel, two hours from Cliffs of Moher, Cork, Sligo. Locally there are some great heritage Gardens- Birr Castle Gardens, Belvedere House Gardens, Heywood Gardens. Clonmacnoise is Ireland's most visited heritage site dating back to the 500's. Here among the High Crosses and Round towers you will find the grave stones of some of the High Kings of Ireland. The Slieve Bloom Mountains are excellent walking. There are a wide variety of signed and marked looped walking trails

Located at the crossroads of Ireland Ardmore House in Kinnitty Co Offaly is halfway between Dublin and Galway in the West of Ireland and Belfast and Cork in the South West of Ireland. The ideal base to break your journey.

AA directions and sat nav will take you on a longer route and narrower road through Mountrath and over the top of the Slieve Bloom Mountains which is only advisable on a clear day

From Dublin Airport to Kinnitty Co Offaly
On Leaving Airport, take the M1 towards Dublin. Exit at the next junction onto the M50 Southbound (easy to miss!). Toll barrier has been removed . Toll can be paid on line at Ardmore country house. Take Exit 9 off the M50 where you will see signposts for N7 also sign-posted Naas Road. After 12 miles the N7 becomes the M7. Stay on the M7 until you reach the Exit 15 for Mountmellick, approx 28 miles from start of motorway. When you come off the motorway here, follow the signs for for the R422 to Mountmellick through a series of roundabouts.
In Mountmellick drive along Main Street, past the square in the town centre. Take the next left for Birr, also sign posted for Clonaslee. Continue on the R422 through Rosenallis, Clonaslee and Cadamstown to Kinnitty. Ardmore House is on the right hand side at entrance to village, approx 50m past school.

From Shannon Airport to Kinnitty
On Leaving Shannon Airport take the N18 to Limerick
In Limerick Follow the Signs for Dublin N7 as far as Roscrea.
At Roscrea take a left off the Roundabout for Roscrea town centre. Drive straight through second roundabout into town centre. Follow signs for Kinnitty R421. Ardmore bed and breakfast Kinnitty Co Offaly Ireland is on the right past village green and Community Centre.

From Belfast to Kinnitty
Take A1 for Dublin as far as Dundalk
Take N52 for Ardee, Mullingar, Kilbeggan
Turn right at roundabout in Kilbeggan for Tullamore, still on the N52.
Take by pass around Tullamore towards Birr. At last roundabout take first exit for Kinnitty {you will see a sign for Kinnitty here}. Continue on that road until you reach a T junction {for approximately 10 miles} Turn right. Pass through village of Cadamstown to Kinnitty. Ardmore Country House is on right as you enter the village of Kinnitty just past a junction to the left for Mountrath.
