Metaxa Hotel

Recently refurbished and ideally situated, just few minute walk from the long sandy beach of Kalamaki, this family run hotel provides homely and friendly atmosphere. A comfortable lounge with satellite TV and bar open out to a large swimming pool, a children's splash pool. The pool-side snack bar offers some delicious dishes and refreshments.

The 33 rooms of Metaxa Hotel were recently renovated in order to offer all guests a pleasant and comfortable accommodation. Most of the rooms are double, while some of them have an extra single or camp bed, which can accommodate a third person (child up to 12 years old). All rooms are fully equipped with A/C, bathroom with shower, direct telephone, yard and balcony or veranda with open view to the garden or the pool. All rooms have mosquito screen and double glazing in verandah's doors. Transfer to and from airport is available upon request.

Landscaped gardens incorporate a restaurant overlooking pool area where a daily breakfast is served and a children's playground.
The sea and the coastal area of the southern part of the Island, at Laganas Bay, as well as the open sea up to the islets of Strofades constitutes the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, which was established by Law in 1999. The park also comprises several beaches as Limni Keriou, Laganas, Kalamaki, Secania, Dafni, Gerakas, as well as a part of the neighboring inland area.

In Town you may stroll at the historic St. Mark's Square and visit the Solomos & Kalvos Museum which is also their Mausoleum. There are kept original artifacts of the island's gentry along with their seals. At the nearby Solomos Square with all the neoclassical buildings you may visit the Byzantine Museum.

On Zakynthos you will find the mountain villages and those of the plains besides those by the sea-side. In between the sharp edged rocks, the white sand and the turquoise water bays the Caretta-Caretta sea-turtles find refuge to reproduce. The beaches of Lagana(8km) and Geraka(17km) are welcoming them every year when they come out at night to lay their eggs.

Directions

On leaving the airport head northeast 0.7 km, then turn right and after 0.5 km again right. Continue on straight 2.1 km. Turn left and after 66m turn right. After 0.6 km you will get to the hotel.
