The freshly renovated Posada del Abuelito re-opened in 2009, offering travelers quiet, comfortable accommodations just minutes from the heart of San Cristóbal. A beautiful colonial house situated in one of the oldest barrios of the city, Posada del Abuelito is a wonderfully friendly, cozy and charming posada with clean and comfortable rooms, furnished in rustic Mexican style.

Facilities include: an immaculate 9 bed dormitory, private rooms with shared bath -- as well as private rooms with private bath. Guests enjoy the use of a clean, community kitchen, warm fireplace and HOT water 24 hours per day! We offer a complimentary breakfast of fresh bagels, jam, butter, coffee and fruit.

Directions from Central Park:

Walk up Real de Guadalupe, which is a street with no cars. Go straight, to Diego de Dugelay Street and make a left. Walk four blocks until you find Calle Tapachula and turn right (it is a cobblestone street). You will find our Posada on the left side of the street a little more than half way down the block (Look for the number 18).

If you arrive at Cristobal Colon Bus station (OCC): Take Calle Insurgentes and walk all the way until you find Central Park. You will recognize the park by the two floor 'gazebo' located in the center. Then proceed using the above directions.

By Taxi: Advise your taxi driver that you are going to Posada Abuelito at Called Tapachula #18 between Ave. Diego Dugelay and Ave. Vicente Guerrero.
