Active Adventure

Tod Mountain Ranch is a small guest ranch that accommodates a maximum of 16 guests in 8 cabins.
Horseback riding is the main activity here at the ranch. The wide variety of rides and trails available in the area means we can cater to all levels of experience. Our horses are well trained and familiar in trail riding in the local terrain and all rides are lead by experienced wranglers and trail guides. We have some wonderful horses here at the ranch that you’ll fall in love with. Guests are welcome to spend time at the barn and get to know the horses they’ll be riding.The mountains around the ranch have an extensive network of old logging roads and cattle trails through the bush to nearby lakes and streams and up into the alpine. We have a variety of rides that vary in duration from a couple of hours to all day rides. The pace of our rides varies with the terrain and the experience and preferences of the group. Riding lessons are also offered in our riding arena. So whether you’re a novice rider looking to improve your riding or an experienced rider who wants to blaze the trails at a faster pace, we’ll make sure you get an exhilarating day in the saddle. In addition to the horseback rides, we have a variety of on-site activities and facilities for you to enjoy during your stay including hiking and mountain biking trails and a horseshoe pitch.

During the winter months, we are only minutes away from the ski hills of Sun Peaks Resort

Typical Day

Wake up in your cabin, have morning coffee on the porch watching the sunrise. Amble over to the lodge where a breakfast feast awaits you. Head down to the barn where your horse will be saddled and waiting for you. Ride out on the mountain trails to the east of the ranch, spot some deer, and meander back along the creek to the ranch. Take lunch on the deck and then after a short break, saddle up again and head out west through the forest trails. Return to the ranch in time to freshen up and enjoy a sundowner on the deck, followed by a 3-course dinner cooked by our resident Chef. After dinner, sit around the camp fire and relive the highlights of the day with your new found friends. Play a hand of cards, or a game of pool and then fall into bed in your cosy cabin hidden in the trees.

Age range, type of group

We are an adult-oriented ranch and welcome guests from all around the world. Whether you are travelling alone, with your partner or a group of friends, you will find a warm welcome here at Tod Mountain Ranch.

We also welcome larger groups and family reunions who are looking to have exclusive use of the ranch.

Sleeping and meals

Our lodge and cabins are luxuriously rustic.

Our spacious cabins are luxuriously equipped to ensure your comfort during your stay. Cabins are either furnished with one queen bed or two double (full size) beds and all have a private bathroom with bath tub and shower. The cabins also have a wide covered porch perfect for relaxing or enjoying an early morning cup of coffee. Each cabin is furnished with custom designed, hand constructed log furniture. Our beds are fitted with pillow top mattresses and feather duvets and pillows.

Our stunning lodge with a wall of windows and breathtaking views down Louis Creek Valley is the heart of the activity at Tod Mountain Ranch. This is the place where guests gather for meals, activities, relaxing and socializing when they’re not out on the trail. Our dining room has a large table that everyone can sit around to enjoy the mouthwatering feasts provided by our resident Chef. The games room is equipped with a pool table, shuffleboard and card table. We have cards, dice games, and a selection of board games for you to enjoy. We even provide the gaming chips. If you just want to relax, then curl up on one of the sofas in our fireside lounge complete with a library of books and magazines. Or maybe you’d like to watch a movie from our DVD library. We have a small TV lounge just for that purpose. For those that need to stay in touch we have a PC with free internet access for guest use. At the rear of the lodge is a complimentary guest laundry facility.

Restrictions

We do not have a children's programme, facilties or child counsellors at the ranch and for that reason we generally do not accommodate children under aged 16.

We are unable to accommodate guest's pets at the ranch, but we have plenty of our own and are willing to share!

The ranch buildings are all non-smoking. Smoking is permitted in designated areas.

Rates

We have packages ranging from 24hr stays to 7 night stays and even longer.

Our rates are all-inclusive and include all horseback riding (approx 5 hrs each day), cabin accommodation, wholesome home-cooked meals three times daily, unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and snacks throughout your stay, use of all ranch facilities

We receive many guests who are travelling solo, and we do not charge any additional single supplements.

Other Information

Tod Mountain Ranch is open from 1st May - 31st October for all-inclusive horseback riding vacations. From 1st December - 31st March we are open for guests who wish to enjoy the wide variety of winter sports on our doorstep.

We are located just 15 minutes from Sun Peaks Resort. In the summer months, the resort is open for golf, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking and downhill mountain biking. In the winter this world class Ski Resort is open of skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing.
