Tranquility awaits you, yet with so many things to do and see! Not to mention the many great restaurant choices close by for an enjoyable dinner each evening.

West Hill House is only one mile from Sugarbush skiing, golfing and tennis resort and adjacent to its Robert Trent Jones Sr. championship golf course - and just seven miles from the Mad River Glen co-operatively owned ski area. We're off the beaten path, but close to the center of Warren and Waitsfield with all their restaurants, shopping and artisans, and in the midst of outdoor recreation beyond imagination. It's a great base from which to explore and enjoy all of Central Vermont.

With warm weather hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, golf and tennis, soaring, spectacular foliage season autumn colors and wintertime downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and sleigh riding all nearby, Sugarbush and the Mad River Valley is a great place to visit at any season of the year! And don't forget the month long Vermont Festival of the Arts in August.

Three common rooms and extensive gardens offer the opportunity to relax in comfort while making West Hill House your country home. Catch up on your reading with our 1,000 book library, enjoy a movie from our 500 title collection, brush up on your pool game or relax in the garden.

The gardens at the West Hill House put on a three season display. Our nine peaceful acres with mountain views, meadow, ponds, gardens and woods provide a setting for relaxation and getting away from it all. Put your feet up on our front porch, the canopied back deck or the airy gazebo. Read a book or watch the "critter shows" as birds and chipmunks, deer and an occasional moose entertain you. Winter visitors can ski at or Mad River Glen, which are both just minutes away, or cross-country ski and snowshoe right out of the front door.

Rooms/Suites

You can choose from 8 unique non-smoking guest rooms all with private ensuite bathrooms. The beds all have memory foam making them amazingly comfortable, and we serve you a delicious breakfast after your great night's sleep.

The room you choose is designed with your delight and comfort in mind. Each of our eight guest rooms offers at an inclusive price:
A queen or king-size bed – king-size beds in the Allen Suite and Mountain Room can be two twin beds on request (for a small fee)
A private en suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath tub and/or a Steam Shower
"Memory foam" on the bed for a soothing sleep
Good reading lamps for when you curl up with a book
A sitting area for your relaxation and decorations unique to that room
A gas fireplace; Air conditioning

Policies & Restrictions

We are State licensed for the sale of wine and beer. State law requires that all alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises MUST be purchased from us so please do NOT bring any alcohol with you to the Inn. Note that our excellent wine list is very reasonably priced!
As we are primarily an Inn to come to for quiet relaxation, we welcome children age 12 or older only.
West Hill House is a non-smoking facility. We can direct you to outdoor locations where you may smoke. If you smoke in your room there will be a $250 cleaning charge to restore the room to pristine condition for our next guests.
We have resident cats Smoky & Snowball who request that you leave your pets at home. Please advise us if you are allergic to cats.

Rooms are priced for double occupancy starting at $140 per night. Rates vary depending on the room and on when you stay with us. Full details are on our website.

Other Information

We offer a very flexible cancellation policy.
If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call or email us at least 21 days prior to your arrival date (60 days if the entire Inn is booked for the same event) for a cheerful refund of your deposit less a $20 service charge per room booked.
For less than 21 days (60 days if the entire Inn is booked for the same event), not including the day of arrival, when you cancel we will be pleased to use your deposit to confirm another stay for you (of at least the same duration) within 60 days of your planned arrival date. If that is not possible for you we do need to retain your deposit, but we will offer you a discount of $70 when you book a future stay at West Hill House with an arrival date within one calendar year of the cancellation date.
A cancellation the day of arrival, a no-show or early departure will be charged the full cost of the reserved rooms.

Directions

The simplest way to get here from almost everywhere except SW Vermont and upstate NY, is to come to exit 9 or 10 on Interstate 89, take Route 100B or 100 respectively towards Waitsfield and Warren, then after you pass through Waitsfield, about 3 miles further south look out for a CITGO gas station on your right followed by a green girder bridge which you cross. Turn right onto the Sugarbush Access Road and drive for 3 miles up to the "T" intersection at the Sugarbush base where you will see the no-entry sign in front of you - the exit from their parking lot.. Turn left onto Inferno Road for one mile which will take you to West Hill Road very close to the Inn. Turn right at the "Y" and you will be right here!

From SW Vermont and upstate NY head for Rutland VT, then take Route 4 east to Route 100 North. Continue on 100 past the turn off to Warren about 2 miles further to the Sugarbush Access Road on your left, then follow the local directions above.
