Ballooning - The early morning sport! May through October.

To take advantage of these conditions we will pick up our passengers at local Santa Fe hotels about 30 minutes before sunrise.

We will then take a short drive north of Santa Fe to an area known as “Las Barrancas” (The Ravines).

It will take about 15 minutes to prepare the balloon for launch while you enjoy coffee & pastries. It is also a great time to take advantage of a great photo opportunity.

Once inflated, you will board the balloon and receive a pre-flight briefing from your highly experienced pilot.

Typical Day

The pilot will gently lift off and, as you break the bonds of mother earth, you will have started on one of the most romantic and memorable adventures of a lifetime.

Since the balloon moves with the wind, you become one with the wind and you will feel very little motion or movement.

The flight should last approximately 1 hour and during this time your pilot will demonstrate the operation of the aircraft and possibly give a little flight instruction.

The chase crew will follow the balloon in our 4 wheel-drive crew cab vehicle, with radio contact during the whole flight.

As the balloon gently touches down our crew will be there to greet you with a complimentary champagne toast and light brunch, which has been a romantic French tradition dating back to 1783.

Before returning to your hotel you will be awarded with a First Flight Certificate and welcomed into the wonderful world of ballooning.
