Old Fort Inn is a peaceful and luxurious retreat in an atmosphere of old world charm. Located on fifteen wooded and landscaped acres in a secluded setting of summer estates, this lovely country inn offers both quiet and convenience. While just a block from the rocky shore’s crashing surf, it is not much more than a mile from the shops, art galleries, and restaurants of bustling Dock Square.
Old Fort Inn’s accommodations are exquisite. Furnished with fine period antiques, four-poster and canopied beds, and fine fabrics and wall coverings, all rooms have private baths and enclosed wet bars and cable TV; some rooms have fireplaces and Jacuzzis. Amenities include plush towels and robes, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards. New arrivals are welcomed with homemade cookies and Belgian chocolates, and seasonally appropriate beverages and snacks are enjoyed each afternoon. The abundance and presentation of the lavish buffet breakfast are greeted with enthusiasm by those planning a relaxing respite at poolside or in the Old Fort Inn antique shop, as well as by those scheduling a more active day on the inn’s private tennis court or at one of the two nearby 18-hole golf courses.
