The Urban Outpost is happy to provide you with short term apartment rentals in Taichung!

Please understand we are neither a hostel nor a hotel and you may be disappointed if you are looking for fun and meeting other international travelers in communal living.

The Urban Outpost studios are fully equipped apartments in a high rise building on one of Taichung's main arteries. We aim to meet the needs of travelers who appreciate privacy, security and comfort of a private apartment with bathroom, shower, comfortable mattress, linens, and high speed Internet connection.

What you need to know about the Urban Outpost:

- The is no curfew, you come and go as you please with your own key

- Check-in and check-out are done at our business office on the 5F of the building.

- There is no 24 hours on site staff- but we are always within reach! Also, there is a 24 hours security guard in the building who will help you out if you have any problem.

Because you are renting an apartment, things work a little differently.
Please pay attention to the way we do things :)

- A one time TWD 500 cleaning and setup fee applies to all bookings.

- There is a TWD 300 key deposit when you arrive. It is fully refundable when you return the keys!

- Check- in is from 1pm to 6pm- our office hours. If you plan to arrive outside of our office hours, no problem, you should just arrange to make the balance payment and the key deposit through PayPal before arrival. We will then arrange for key pick up. In case you are unable to pay through PayPal in advance and wish to pay by cash on arrival, we will arrange to have a staff wait for you and a late arrival fee will be charged according to the following schedule: 6pm - 8pm: TWD200/ 8pm - 10pm: TWD300/ 10pm -12pm: TWD 500/ Check-in past mid-night must be prepaid by PayPal.

Generally speaking, if this is your fist time in Taichung or/and you do not speak Chinese, the easiest way to get here is by cab. If you feel more adventurous, you can reach us by bus.

• From the Taoyuan International Airport, take an intercity bus to the Chao Ma bus station. From the Chao Ma Station, take a cab to the Urban Outpost- it's about 3-4 US$.

• From the Zhong Gang transfer station （中港轉運站), a cab ride will cost you US$6-7 . By bus, take the 73 towards the train station and get off at the Xiang Xin Rd. (向心路）bus stop. From the Chao Ma bus station, a cab ride is about US$3-4 . If you wanna take the bus, walk to ZhongGang road (it's quite close) and then take the 73 towards the train station. Get off at the Xiang Xin Road （向心路）bus stop.


• From the train station, a cab ride will cost you about 5US$. By bus, take the 73 towards the Zhong Gang transfer station （中港轉運站）and get off at the Xiang Xin Road （向心路）bus stop.

• From the HSR（high speed rail) station, you can take a free shuttle bus, towards Taichung Park （台中公園） and get off at the intersection WuQuan West Road （五權西路） and Dadun Road (大墩路). From there, walk backwards towards WenXin Rd., make a right and look for the green building complex where the Urban Outpost is located. You can also take the 85 and get off at the Xiang Xin Road （向心路）bus stop. A cab ride from the HSR station will cost you about US$ 8.
