Food is available in the bar and in the restaurant and conservatory . The name of the hotel has an unusual origin . Traditionally, the University of Oxford allowed their students to stable horses, but not the dogs . With nowhere else to house the animals, the proprietor of the local inn offered an invaluable dog-sitting service and the venue became known as the Dog House . Today, there are 20 comfortable en suite rooms, including 2 feature rooms . Each room has a TV and tea/coffee making facilities .
