Typical Day

Day 01 – Malang
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Overnight : Hotel in Malang.

Welcome to Bali and the start of your adventure! From the airport you will be transferred to Malang City, lunch en route. Check in at the hotel in Malang.

Day 02 – Ranu Kumbolo
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Tents, Near Ranu Kumbolo Lake.

At 05.00, we leave Malang city and stop at Coban Pelangi waterfall for bird watching. It takes about an hour by car from Malang to this waterfall. Coban Pelangi is a beautiful waterfall, about 32 km away to the East of Malang. It has natural, cool, and clean water that gives a peaceful impression. The waterfall site is located in the village named Gubuk Klakah, Poncokusumo district. Enjoy its fresh air, nature scenery, and of course the beautiful waterfall. Breakfast will be served near the waterfall.

From Coban Pelangi waterfall, continue the trip to Ngadas Village, the indigenous tribe village. using 4WD vehicle. Stop for a while at Jemplang intersection to watch the beautiful sceneries of Semeru Volcano, the highest volcano and mountain in Java Island. After that, enjoy watching peafowls at Ranu Regulo lake.

After lunch and short rest, time for little hard work. We will try to reach Ranu Kumbolo before sunset by trekking through hills and open forest for about 4 hours. Enjoy the night near the exotic lake.

Day 03 - Bromo Sunset
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Hotel in Cemara Lawang.

After enjoying the cool morning air, hot coffee or tea and simple breakfast prepared by our Field Leader at Ranu Kumbolo, we are trekking down to Ranu Pani. From the peaceful and inspiring lake, the trip continues to Ireng-Ireng tropical rainforest which takes about 30 minutes. There, we will observe the endangered Indonesian wildlife like Javan langurs and many endemic birds.

Continue the journey by jeep to the valley of Bromo. Check in at the hotel in Cemara Lawang. Enjoy the sunset overlooking the crater of Bromo from the hotel.

Day 04 – Pananjakan Sunrise
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Hotel near Sendang Biru Beach

Early in the morning, at 03.00 am, we will go to Pananjakan hill view point by the 4WD vehicle to watch the sunrise.

From Pananjakan View Point, head to Bromo Volcano through the sea of sand. Arriving at the top of Bromo Volcano, we continue the trip to the Bromo and Batok craters (horseback riding).

Back to the hotel for breakfast and continue enjoying the beautiful views in Bromo. At 12:00, check out from the hotel and you will be transferred to Malang and continue the trip to Sendang Biru beach, located on the southern edge of Malang Regency, via small city named Turen, lunch en route. This beach is not our main destination, it's just a starting point for our next adventure tommorrow.

Day 05 - Sempu Island
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Tents at Sempu Island

Sempu, an irregularly-shaped island four km across at its widest point, lies approximately 50 km south of the Malang. The channel, roughly 0.5 km wide, runs from southwest to northeast between Sempu and the mainland. Sendang Biru, a small fishing village, is located on the mainland at the southwestern end of the channel; it lies in the shadow-zone of Sempu Island.

This island is a natural preserve, No electricity and no one lives here. There are more than 223 plant species, and more than 144 species of birds, mammals and other rare animals. According to the statement of the ranger from forestry department, leopards are often seen in the vicinity of Sempu Island.

From Sendang Biru, it takes approximately 30 minutes to cross to the Sempu island. When the boat begin to move closer to this exotic island, it will not be pulled down to the shore, sharp corals around the coast of Sempu will crash the boat if our boat is going too close to the shore. We must proceed on foot from where the boat stops to get to the beach, approximately six meters... and yes, you will get wet.

After that we go to Segara Anakan lagoon by trekking through dense forest. Be careful, we will pass the slippery and muddy trekking routes, get ready to slip, and your clothes will get dirty with mud. Along the trekking route, we will encounter with several species of primates and birds. After 2 hours trekking, we will arrive at a beautiful lagoon.

Today we will explore the surrounding area of Segara Anakan lake and Sempu Island, you can also swim or snorkeling in Segara Anakan. We spend the night in this island, having campfire and BBQ party near the lake.

Day 06 Sempu - Surabaya - End
Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, continue to explore the surrounding area. At 10:00, we leave this island and go back to the hotel at Sendang Biru. And then we will transfer you to Surabaya Airport for your next destination.
