Located 50 miles from Juneau, you can fly in on a small plane anytime daylight hours, or by Alaska Airlines jet in the afternoon. We will pick you up for the 5 minute drive to Gustavus Inn. Gustavus INn sits in the Salmon River Meadow overlooking Icy Strait. You can see aerial photos on our website. Gustavus is surrounded by 360 degrees of mountains some rising to 14.000 ft in Glacier Bay National Park. We take our guests to the park daily for guided naturalist tours, arrange all tours including the day boat tour to the glaciers, whalewatching, charter salt water fishing and kayaking 6 ways.

Accommodations
A historic homestead, Gustavus Inn has been completely renovated with world travellers in mind. Private baths and spacious rooms, a naturalist library, sunset deck, front porch and hearth room host your perfect getaway. New expanded dining rooms seats 40. Full kitchen garden complements all our meals. Sweeping lawn has bocce ball, volleyball and horseshoe pits.

Spacious rooms with views to Icy Strait, Salmon River meadow, and wildflower fields. Private bath, queen and twin bed in each room. All personally decorated with original watercolors by the owner of 30 years. Handicapped accessible. Private garden suite has two rooms connected by a lounge. Enjoy an appertif on the sunset deck off the dining room. All private to our guests.

Amenities
Our dining room was just awarded the James Beard "America's Classic" award for 2010. We feature seafood, family style dining and ocean and garden harvest cuisine. We always have a wild edible to try. Our six stool bar is a great gathering place before dinner to exchange travel tips with guests.
