Activity/Tour

Volunteer with women in Tanzania
Our volunteers teach English, computers or business to primarily adult women. Currently we have 38 students, half of whom have only primary education. We have developed lesson plans and translators in each class so volunteers do not have to have any prior experience. We also conduct home visits every Friday. We visit 2 of our students in their home, meet their family, chat... and find out how best to help them in the future. It makes for a wonderful cultural exchange for both our students and our volunteers

Typical Day

Our volunteers teach from 9am to 12pm Monday to Thursday. We offer our students extra help Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. On Monday and Thursday afternoon we teach ABCs to local children and play games with them. After school, volunteers are free to go to town, use the internet, do some shopping... Dinner is served around 6:30pm

Sleeping and meals

Our volunteers stay in a Western style home with most of modern amenities. There are 2 volunteers per room. Volunteers are free to use the kitchen any time. Dinners are provided for from Sunday to Friday.

Rates

Rate is $300 CAD per week for the first 4 weeks, then $150 per week (compatible with most hostels in town). 100% of this fee goes to support the school, students and their businesses and your accommodation.

We rely solely on volunteers so your presence is truly valued and appreciated by both our organization and our students.
