The Dancing Eesti hostel is a hostel with a difference, it is located in an old art noveau building that is one of the symbols of tallinn, it has a bar located through a secret entrance and was used as a meeting point during the old soviiet times, because of this the building is heritage listed and so you are living in a bit of Tallinn legend, add to this the location that is truly in the heart of the city and a stones throw away from the townhall and you have the best hostel for fun and for discovering this world heritage listed city, the hostel also has an emphasis on common areas and getting guests to interact, we are one of the few hostels who keep the common areas and kitchen open 24 hours a day so guests can always chill,

The busiest bars are less thn 50m away from the hostel, and in winter when it is below 20c some night that is handy, you will never get lost in a dark alley on your way home

For people who want to learn and find out about Tallinn, the hostel has staff who can tell you all the ins and outs. One member of staff has written published articles on the city and another member teaches tour guides about the cities history, besides the pretty old town, Tallinn has much more to offer and our staff can show you the best secret places that tourists are not told about

This is an independent hostel for travellers, run by travellers. We keep the prices down to keep Tallinn affordable to all types of travellers, in return we hope that some travellers who get a cheap bed find the time to leave a review as this winter less thn 3 percent of our bookings leave reviews

Dear guests the average age of hostel guests is 22 the hostel has a lively atmosphere on weekends. Those needing just a place to sleep on the weekends are advised to try the Sleeeping Maris hostel instead. Most of reviews recently are from people who are a bit older and who have no interest but to sleep, our hostel is more for people who want to discover the city with us

From the Airport

Take bus number 2 to the A.Laikmaa stop at the Viru shopping center and walk from there to the Old Town. You will see a small flower market, walk there through the Viru Gates and you will end up in Viru street, walk about Viru street and the second left is Sauna street, so walk to the end of Sauna street and now you are on Vaike Karja, on the corner of both streets you will notice a yellw building, that is us, our entrance is not the first gate on the corner but walk up Vaike Karja and it is the second similar gate that leads to a court yard besides a bar called the karrja keldder, when you are in the courtyard, turn righht and walk down the wall and at the end you should view the staircase to the The Dancing Eesti,

From the Bus Station

Take bus 17 or 23 to Vabaduse Väljak, the bus stop at a big square. Cross the parking lot and walk into Harju street. Turn at the tourist office to the right into Kuninga street and take your first righht into Vaike Karja, we are located on the left hand side of the street and we are the first gate that leads into a courtyard, besides the bar Karrja Keldder, once you walk through the courtyard, turn righht and walk down the wall and at the end you should view the staircase to the The Dancing Eesti,

Walk from the port in the direction of the Old Town, take a left into Mere street till the roundabout. Take a right there through the Viru Gates and you will end up in Viru street.
