If you are just looking for a bed and nothing else...easy, there are thousands elsewhere in the city.

If you want something more from a hostel, from the people who work and live there, if you want a community, an experience, and an atmosphere bursting with creativity, excitement and fun... welcome to Vitae, welcome to real hostel life.

As part of the Budapest Party Hostels Brand we are the least wild of the four, we still go out every night drinking, but also offer you a range of different options, and have a great environment with chill areas if you want to stay in too. We offer clean,. bright spacious rooms, with hard to beat security and the real difference, attentive and caring staff who actually take an interest in all parts of your stay in Budapest.

60% of our total floor space is sociable space so that there is a ton of room for you to chill, or play games, meet people or watch dvds. We have a large modern kitchen, for you to cook for yourself or for us to cook for you, as we have in house cook-ups almost every night for just the cost of the ingredients.

We know that Budapest is not just about tours, castles and churches which is why we organise something every night with a group program, but we also can suggest other cultural or party ideas for you as we like to keep a finger on the pulse of what is going on in the city. If for any reason you are not interested in the evening event we plan, don't worry as we can tell you a host of other things going on in the city.

We are pretty relaxed and chilled out people who need to be at walking distance of everything from major sights, corner shops, supermarkets, pubs clubs and restaurants, so we have located ourselves in the middle of it all, AND in between major public transport methods if walking is too far.

We like to personalise the place, so we have decorated it with street artists from Budapest to add some character, then we have added a beer vending machine so you don't have to walk all the way downstairs when you just need a pint.

We have smoking areas for smokers on our terrace overlooking the view of the Basilica, and the rest of it non smoking for non smokers.

We have entertainment central with a darts board, table football, guitar heroes and even chess to stop you from getting bored.

But more importantly, we know Budapest inside out and love it, so we want to share why we love it with you. We will spend a long time with you on check in (after we have made you a cup of tea or coffee which is always free) telling you all about what we love, and asking you what you might love. We'll point out all the cool places, places with discounts, sights to see, things to enjoy, culture to soak up and parties to not remember in the morning!

A week with us will include karaoke nights, backpackers' parties, live music with open mic nights, mad epic pub crawls, cheap drink nights and much much more. Of course we are flexible and open to suggestions, so you let us know what you like and we'll see if we can get the group along.

Carpe Noctem Vitae is suitable for single travellers who like to meet people, but also has the space for groups as well, as long as you want to get involved!

We are all native English speakers, live in staff who are sociable, friendly, open, and can't wait to meet you!

Please note:
Regrettably, due to previous experience, we can no longer accept bookings for people over 40. If you have booked and are outside this age, please contact us and we will help find you alternative accommodation.
