Hour long tours of the expansive state penitentiary that operated from 1901-1981. A Museum, Gift Shop, and walking path are also available on site.
The original Wyoming State Penitentiary, now known as the Wyoming Frontier Prison, served the state for 80 years. A great many infamous characters passed through the hallways and cell blocks that comprise the expansive historic site. Guided tours, approximately 1 hour in duration, consist of 3 cell blocks, Kitchen, Cafeteria and Death House which includes both methods of execution used during the operation.
Several annual events are featured: The Pen to Pen Fun Run in June, Haunted Halloween Tours in October, and Christmas out of the Big House craft bazaar in December.
Leashed pets are welcome to join our tours. Tobacco use of any kind is prohibited.
Kids: 6-12 $7 each (5 and under are free)
Adults: 13-59 $8 each
Seniors: 60+ $7
Open 7 days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Tours offered every hour on the half hour from 8:30am-4:30pm. The Museum is open 8am-5pm
Off season tours are available Monday-Thursday at 10:30am and 1:30pm. Closed Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
