The lodge is also home to Mountainside Outfitters retail store and our fine dining Sunset Grille restaurant which features an outdoor dining deck featuring a scenic 3 state view, sunsets, bird watching, and exceptional food. Also featuring festive nightlife thanks to live music, an electronic game room, and the Chalet Lounge. An indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool and free Internet. The overall atmosphere of Chestnut Mountain is something everyone finds to be a great escape from the daily grind.During summertime, activities include an alpine slide down 2,050 ft. of tailored track to the banks of the Mississippi. The scenic lift whisks you back to the top where, on a clear day, the view is as much the attraction as the ride down. The slide opens Memorial Day Weekend. Spring and Fall hours are weekends only. Children six and under must ride with an adult. Do not resist the temptation to take a 1.5 hour boat cruise on the Mississippi Explorer up the Mississippi. Wildlife viewing, historical vignettes, geological curiosities, and beautiful riverscapes make this one of the area's most compelling side trips. Departure Times Saturday & Sunday at 11:00 am, 1:30pm, & 3:30pm (Please arrive one hour before departure time. Tickets can be purchased at Alpine Slide).
