Living on a farm in Idaho, we didn't think we would be in for much of a change. However when we rounded the corner into Dubois we knew we were in for a treat. The scenery was amazingly beautiful!!! We were greeted with a friendly staff that made us feel right at home. The food was incredible(I think my husband and i both gained 5 lbs, our fault for eating seconds and thirds).
The cabins were comfortable and clean, and romantic with the fireplace in the master bedroom.

Active Adventure
The ranch owns 60 head of horses to suit the ability of different riders. We offer unforgettable rides for all skill levels. The T Cross has taught many, many people how to ride. Numerous guests arrive never having sat in a saddle; they leave with confidence and experience. Our sure-footed horses are bred, raised, and grazed in the mountains. They are mountain horses. Let your horse share the favorite, familiar trails. We will help you gain the confidence you need to enter these lofty retreats. You are in good hands.
This land has been carved naturally by water, wind, and glaciers leaving behind beautiful and diverse scenery. Horseback is the only way to see this country.
In addition to riding, fly-fishing, pack trips, wagon rides behind our enormous draft horses, shooting, wildlife viewing, hiking, and the occasional tubing trip down Horse Creek can all fit into an unforgettable vacation for you and your family.
Typical Day
Morning and afternoon rides range from 1-3 hours. Morning rides saddle up at 9 a.m., afternoon rides at 2 p.m. Typically, Wednesday and Friday all-day rides are 4-8 hours with a sack lunch included.
Our highly anticipated event of the week is the Thursday morning Gymkhana (games on horseback.) Organized by the wranglers of T Cross, the games include all. Barrel racing, pole bending, team penning, and also some foot rodeo, this proves to be an exciting day. As competition is friendly, this is the perfect chance to put your newly learned horsemanship skills to the test.
Age range, type of group
The T Cross is a great place for the entire family. Our Kids Program has been developed to ensure a fun, eye-opening experience. Children will have the time of their lives as they explore, learn, and see a whole new world.Children must be 6 years old to ride.
Activities are tailored to interests and abilities of guests. Just ask us, we'll do our best to meet your request!
Sleeping and meals
Our historic Lodge is the heart of life at T Cross. This designated historic treasure was built by hand in 1930 with indigenous materials. T Cross cuisine is hearty ranch food with a touch of elegance. Homemade breads and desserts are a specialty. Meals are served in the Lodge dining room except for Wednesday supper cookouts on Horse Creek.
Dinner begins with a happy hour for adults at 6:00 p.m. in the Lodge living room. Set-ups and hors d’ oeuvres are provided. Bring your own bottle. Dinner follows in the dining room about 6:30 p.m. At dinner, long pants and a collared shirt are a rule. And in Western tradition – and elsewhere we believe – all hats come off.
