I'm not a repeat vacationer,but I've come back to ATA for a second year. It's basically adult camp - hiking in the morning,kayaking and swimming in the afternoon,with the ability to squeeze in time for sightseeing and some great VT microbrews. John and his guides are super friendly, knowledgeable,and flexible. They work hard to make sure you get the experience you want. Some buddies and I spent a full day kayaking with John and his guides at Appalachian Trail Adventures this past weekend. John was very helpful in assisting with our decision to use his company. He catered to our needs (and numerous questions) and found a great river in spite of the fact that it hadn’t rained in weeks.
We enjoyed the paddling, the views, and his team’s pleasant nature and conversation. We are already planning our next adventure with them. ... more

My husband and I spent a week with ATA this past July (2010). It was a great adventure. We really enjoyed the hiking. John and his team know the Killington area intimately, hikes were well planned and well chosen by ability level. Good food and great additional activities like kayaking and yoga. We also love tennis and this lodge has 5 terrific red clay courts. This is a wonderful vacation get-away... affordable, relaxing and so fun! ... more

For fitness activities other than hiking, we offer excise and yoga classes. À la carte activities include Registered Dieticians, cooking demonstration, Personnel Trainers, horseback riding, fly fishing, clay shooting, bird watching, rock climbing, cycling and mountain biking.
We provide an all inclusive vacation with affordable accommodations, spa cuisine and experienced guides that will maximize this unparalleled Vermont vacation.
ATA has a delicious spa menu and work daily with our chefs. Our meals are a healthy balance of carbohydrates, proteins and healthy fats. We offer a vegetarian option at every meal and cater to special diets, such as vegan, wheat and dairy-free options.
HIKING PROGRAMS: The majority of our hikes are in the Green Mountain Nation Forest along the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail, the oldest long distance hiking trail in the country.
Our PEAK BAGGING PROGRAM is for those advanced hikers will have the opportunity to hike all five of Vermont’s 4,000 foot mountains. Those who summit all of Vermont’s 4,000 footers are awarded with a certificate of accomplishment. This accomplishment in the hiking community is referred to as a peak bagging.
Our VERMONT'S VISTA and VILLIAGE VACATION takes intermediate and novice hikers to Vermont’s most scenic vistas, to a waterfalls, a historical mine, or to a beautiful crystal clear lake.

At the Summit Lodge, you'll find some of the finest recreation anywhere. In summer, hone your racquet skills on our tennis court, then cool off in our outdoor heated pool.
