Surrounding Area

Katomeri is one of the three villages in Meganisi. It is the capital town of the island and seat of municipality of Meganisi. Katomeri is situated about one kilometer inland from Vathi. It has got less than 500 residents.

Katomeri is a typical Greek village with traditional architecture and friendly locals. The stone-built cottages and their vast courtyards with potted plants catch the immediate attention of the visitors to the village. Katomeri is not a crowded town. Rather it gives you the picture of a village that is untouched by the modern world. Except for a few traditional taverns, bakery and a petrol station, you may not find many tourist facilities that are typical of famous Greek tourist spots.

Atherino is the port in Katomeri. It is mainly used by fishing boats. Fishing and farming are the main activities of the village. Apart from the main cultivation of wine and olive, Katomeri also produces a variety of vegetables and fruits. The harbour is connected to nearby ports and villages by ferries.

Vacation Rental Property

Ground Floor: There is a living room, an open kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. In the living room there is a sofa that opens into a bed, on which two children or an adult can sleep. A staircase leads to the first floor.

First Floor: Two bedrooms and a bathroom. In one bedroom there is a double bed and in the second bedroom two single beds. Both rooms have a balcony where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the sea.

Outside: Each villa has its own swimming pool and seperated outer space lined with stone and flower beds. There's also a table, armed chairs, sun umbrellas and pergolas.

Directions

You can access the island from various locations and with multiple means of transportation.
By road, from any place in mainland Greece & Europe to Lefkada and then Nydri. Then by ferry boat (25 min) to Meganisi (Spartochori & Vathy). During the summer there is a ferry every 2 hours.
By plane, from Aktion airport to Lefkada (20 min) and then Nydri.
By ferry boat from Kefalonia & Ithaka to Lefkada (Vassiliki or Nydri).
By sea plane, from Brintisi, Patra, Ioannina & Corfu to Lefkada and then Nydri.
