Surrounding Area

The cottage is situated in the quiet and hilly village of Saint Michel le Cloucq, above Fontenay le Comte, in a peaceful street.
The village is on the edge of the forest with many places for walking and cycling.
Only 50 km from the renowned sailing part and beautiful city of La Rochelle and the beaches of the Atlantic. The islands of Ré, Aix or Oléron are just off the coast.
Few kilometers away there is Le Marais Poitevin, also known as the Green Venice, with its green canals for idyllic boating and fishing.
The river Vendee ideal for fishing is less than 5 km away.
Approx an hour away is Futuroscope, the science and technology theme park near Poitiers.
The Puy du Fou historic theme park with its day attractions, the summer evening concerts and displays is within 60 km.
Situated in the quiet village of Saint Michel le Cloucq, 5 kms from the old capital of Fontenay le Comte, 30 kms from Niort and 50 Kms from La Rochelle and the beaches of the Atlantic and the islands of
Ré and Aix.
The village is on the edge of a large forest and there are lots of places to walk and cycles.
Less than 5 kms from the house is the River Vende wher you can fish and there is good fishing and boating on the canals of Le Marais Poitevin , better known as Green Venice.
Lac de Chassenon has a beach with supervised swimming, it is great for the young children.
The Vendee apart from its beauty is filled with historic and fine architecture, notably the Abbaye of Maillezais or the Abbaye Royale in Nieul.

Vacation Rental Property

Our cottage is very comfortable for up to 4 people or for 4 adults and 2 children. It is located in the peaceful setting in the small south Vendee hamlet. A rustic cottage fully restored to its original appearance, with exposed local stone walls, wooden beams and wooden floors, tiled ground floor. It is furnished with antique French country style furniture. It is comfortable and done with good taste.

The ground floor has a large living/room with a fireplace, a kitchen/dining room, bathroom and separate washroom, utility room, and one double bedroom with en suite shower room (bed 1.60 m wide).
he upstairs has one double bedroom (bed 1.40 m wide) and one mezzanine bedroom (2 beds, each 1.20 m wide)
The facilities include 1 satellite TV with English, german, dutch, Spanish, Italian channels, 1 frenchTV, 1VCR, 2 DVD players, telephone, games, dvd and video cassettes, free wifi internet access by wifi.
Fully fitted kitchen with all modern facilities, well equipped with crockery, cutlery and plenty of utensils, kettle, dishwasher, ceramic hobs, microwaves oven, full oven fridge, freezer, washing machine.
For a restful and enjoyable stay, you find a private garden, a stone patio with garden furniture, a large outdoor dining area with a purpose built chimney-barbecue, a private garden. 4 mountain bicycles for adults and 3 mountain bicycles for children are available free of charge.
Bathroom towels, house linen, and bed linen is provided, the beds are made prior to arrival. A cot, highchair and baby bath can be provided on request.

Sleeps & # of Bedrooms

There are 2 bedrooms and one mezzanine room. One bedroom is on the ground floor with a large double bed (160cm), TV, DVD player and an en suite with shower, sink and WC. The other bedroom is upstairs with a double bed (140cm). The mezzanine is also upstairs, enclosed on three sides, and has two 3/4 beds (120cm) - an ideal room for children. We provided bedding and we make the beds fresh for when you arrive.
There is 1 bathroom with bath and sink. There is also a separate WC and an en suite shower room in the downstairs bedroom with shower, sink and WC. Bath towels, hand towels, flannels and bath mats are provided. The bathrooms are fitted electric heated towel rails.

Amenities

For your comfort we have provided a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fan oven, freezer, various small kitchen appliances, 2 televisions inc. 1 with satellite TV (free French, English, German, Italian and Spanish channels), 1 VCR, 2 DVD players, mini Hi-Fi, telephone for receiving calls, free WiFi internet and mountain bikes for adults and children. Towels and bedding also provided, beds made on arrival. Electric heating with storage heaters.
Outside: private garden and sunny terrace, garden furniture and deckchairs, dining area with barbeque. Mountain bikes available

Policies & Restrictions

Prices are per week and vary depending on the time of year.
We require a down payment of 25% of the total cost on booking.
We ask for a security deposit of 200 EUR when you arrive which will be returned when you leave assuming there has been no damage to the property.
In winter there is an extra charge for heating.
Bookings are from 4pm Saturday until 10 am the following Saturday. At certain times of year and for last minute bookings arrival and departure days are flexible. Please contact us for more information.

- from 5th May 2012 to 30th June 2012 : 330 Euros
- from 30th June 2012 to 14th July 2012 : 530 Euros
- from 14th July 2012 to 25th August 2012 : 685 Euros
- from 25th August 2012 to 1st September 2012 : 530 Euros
- from 1st September 2012 to 29th September 2012 : 330 Euros
- from 29th September 2012 to 27th October 2012 : 300 Euros
- from 27th October 2012 to 10th November 2012 : 325 Euros
- from 10th November 2012 to 22nd December 2012 : 300 Euros
- from 22nd Decembre 2012 to 5th January 2013 : 325 Euros


Prices include normal electricity expenses, water, towels, house linen and bed linen. Prices exclude additional consumption of electricity for heating and wood for fireplace.
The rental price excludes end of stay cleaning. End of stay cleaning is the responsibility of the departing client(s). A supplement of Euros 45 may be paid to provide this service

Directions

Travel to the Vendée is convenient, with road links to the Channel ports improved by new motorways in recent years. St Malo is only 3 hours away. In addition, the airport at La Rochelle (55 minutes) is served by two airlines from the UK (Ryanair and BE) and the larger airport a Nantes (1 hour) is part of the networks of both British Airways and Air France.
