The Waterfall House is located in the Kaaterskill Clove; the area the Hudson River School of Painters called "Sublime" Waterfalls, mountains, streams and hiking trails are right out your front door. The tallest waterfall in New York State (20 feet taller than Niagara Falls) is a 10 minute drive up the Kaaterskill Clove.

Thomas Cole and his student's home Fredrick Church are a 10-20 minute drive to vista these historic homes. Hudson a 25 minute drive is filled with antique stores, art galleries and fine restaurants.

Not to be missed in the famous Woodstock just a 15 minute drive. Great restaurants, art galleries and stores. Woodstock always has live music venues in the evening. Join the drumming circle on Sundays 4-6pm outdoors on the green in the center of town, weather permitting.

Visit Saugerties just 7 miles to the center of town. A real 18th century unaltered town except for the terrific stores and restaurants. You will delight in its authentic character. Hits horse show in the summer and fall brings the best in riders and jumpers.

Taking a little longer drive on the east side of the Hudson River will take you to many historic homes FDR's, Vanderbilt's and don't forget the famous Culinary Institute of America. Great dining lunch or dinner.

Situated on the legendary Niobe Falls, the Waterfall House is a sunny and bright, charming Victorian house at the end of a quiet country lane. Unspoiled Palenville, home of Washington Irving's "Rip Van Winkle," is centrally located between Woodstock, Saugerties, Catskill and Hunter. 

Furnished with country antiques and original art, this vacation rental home has two bedrooms, each with its own full bath plus a den with twin bed convertible chairs. The full size sofa bed in the living room affords a glorious waterfall view. The separate dining room comfortably seats six. 

A fully equipped cook’s kitchen features granite counters and coffee nook with delightful river views. French doors in both the living room and den open to a romantic wrap-around porch right over the river with majestic mountain and waterfall views, the inspiration for the famed Hudson River School of Painters. 

Famed Woodstock, a 12 mile drive, is a haven for shops, galleries and restaurants. Hunter Mountain (10 miles), provides a wide range of winter and summer activities. Hunter is the first of the three major ski resorts, which also include Windham and Belleayre. The Catskill Mountain Foundation offers classes in the arts and many craft and culinary events. Nature lovers will appreciate the access to hiking and fishing.

In summer and fall, browse the outdoor flea market. Enjoy a concert at the historic Maverick or live theater at the Woodstock Playhouse. The Woodstock Film Festival, held each Autumn, is a movie lover's delight. The dates this year are Oct. 1 - 5.

The quaint village of Saugerties (8 miles), is known for it's easy access to the Hudson River for boating and sailing and is home to H.I.T.S., a major equestrian center. Saugerties hosts many festivals and events such as the Garlic Festival, Sept. 27 and 28th, and the Jazz Festival. A colorful Farmer’s Market is open in season. 

Evenings are perfect for strolling to the Fernwood Restaurant for cocktails and dinner.

Sleeps & # of Bedrooms

Six guests can comfortably sleep at The Waterfall House. The best views are provided from the living room queen size pull out couch with a comfort pad so as to not feel any bar. Straight on waterfall views and sounds. The downstairs double bed room also has waterfall views. Upstairs bedroom with its large private bathroom has less sounds of the falling water.

Fireplace in the living room, telephone, Wifi, 42" flat panel plasma HDTV, DVD collection of over 100 films as well as a large book collection.
We like to say is the only thing you will need to bring is your toothbrush.
