Active Adventure

Join the Italiaoutdoors team for a unique Food and Wine Active Vacation centered in the wine regions of the Veneto. The Veneto is perhaps the most active wine-producing region in Italy. The region has over 20 different zones, and many of its wines, both still and sparkling, are internationally known and appreciated. During this bike week, we ride the hills of the wine zones and enjoy the varied types of wine in the afternoon and for dinner. This is about good rides and discovering some new favorite wines.

Italiaoutdoors is a small owner-operated specialty guide service, dedicated to offering uniquely personalized tours of Northeastern Italy. We personally design and lead each and every tour, to introduce our guests to the joys of active adventures. With 15 years of professional recreational programming experience, as well as formal culinary and wine training, our tours are created to introduce authentic regional Italian culture, history and cuisine to our active guests.

We offer a few scheduled trips, but our specialty is in creating custom adventures for small groups of 4-12, priced the same as our scheduled trips. We work directly with you to create an itinerary personalized to your groups interests, favorite activities (bike, hike, walk, ski), and preferred leisure activities. We personally lead each and every adventure, to insure the flexibility to adapt to the weather, group interests and encourage spontaneous fun!

Typical Day

Our personal attention to each tour allow us to adapt daily to the desires of our small groups. But as an example of what a typical bike day may hold:

We will explore the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG today. We will find a few hills today along our path, but the wines we discover along the way will be our reward! Our travels will take us through this amazingly picturesque region, where the prosecco grape has been cultivated for centuries. Famous prosecco producers will dot our path, but we will stop for a taste and a snack at a small, family run producer that makes a wonderful prosecco not sold outside of the region.

Our return to Conegliano will allow us some time to explore the city before our wine tasting this evening, where we will taste some mouthwatering proseccos from the Grand Cru area of the region, the Cartizze area. DInner this evening is on your own in Conegliano.

Age range, type of group

This trip is for experienced cyclists. You don't train for performance, nor race, but you ride on a fairly regular basis. Daily optional routes allow us to offer mileage options, and to challenge yourself, or avoid, those hills!

Custom trips can be designed for all levels of cyclists (or hiker or skier), from beginner to expert. Daily route options can be offered to accommodate multiple levels or even activities on our custom trips.

Sleeping and meals

All breakfasts, all dinners but 1 are included. All cooking events, wine and food tastings, bike rentals, ground transportation, and the services of two experienced guides are included. All accommodations are included at local hotels and inns.
