Activity/Tour
It’s breeding season and it’s the 30 minute period at the end of night when all the birds begin to awaken soon almost all male birds will sing; quietly at first and then loud and hard. As the sun rises, EVERY bird in earshot is singing simultaneously. You are the audience.
The theatre is your private lakeside veranda at the historic Eagle Lake Sporting Camps. You are listening, watching the loons, and sipping a cup of expertly brewed (shade grown) coffee as the humming birds dance at the feeders. For birders and non-birders alike this is an experience of a lifetime; simply breathtaking and overwhelming!
Northern Maine boasts a great destination for birders and wildlife photographers. Home to a great many species of migratory and non-migratory birds, bird watching is a four-season event.

• Observe, record, move on, or just linger with your camera
• 16 hours of daylight means a determined birder can record 100 species in a day
For those needing a little help to cover territory, our 26 foot pontoon boat provides a stable platform for photographing the multiple species of waterfowl, herons, and Bald Eagles.
Or, enjoy our canoes and kayaks on the protected coves and along our 4-mile thoroughfare.
A secluded marsh and other remote spots are a short all terrain vehicle ride away.
• Start your day with breakfast as early as 3:30 am
• Enjoy a shore side lunch at a special pond or on a secluded beach
• After a long day and a fine dinner, your cozy cabin awaits
• Read by the gas lamps then climb under a warm and fluffy comforter
• Or, wander over to the campfire and join other guests for star gazing
• Located in the midst of a 23,000 acre reserve, the Camps are off the power grid and the views are shared only with other guests at the lodge
Policies & Restrictions
Cancellation policy: 120 or more days before arrival, full refund; 30-59 days before arrival, 50% refund; less than 30 days before arrival, no refund. No refunds on hunting and fall accomodations and packages.
Check-in time: After 3:00 p.m. on day of arrival.
Check-out time: 11:00 a.m. on day of departure.

Summer Boating / Birding / Wildlife Photography: July 1 through August 25: American Plan $135 per person per night; includes 3 meals; cabin; use of small boats; complimentary pontoon boat tour; group orientation - check the calendar for special events - 2 night min
Bed and Breakfast Rate; July 1 through August 25: $175 per night per couple, includes breakfast. (limited availability) Lunch and Dinner is additional. See the Roosevelt Dining Room Menu online.
