Directions
To get here there are the following transportation options:
- From San Jose Airport. Aprox. driving time 4hours.30 minutes
o If you are landing at San Jose Airport before noon, you can catch the Shared Van Service departing at 2:00pm from the Airport. A booking in advance is required.
o If you are landing after 2pm the best way to come to Tamarindo Beach is by renting a car or hiring private transportation. Often the Car Rentals have special rates for last minute bookings. From the Airport you can take a cab to go to the car rental mall, located only 3 minutes from the airport, where you will find, Economy Rent a Car, Thrfty Car Rental, Toyota Rent a Car, Solid Car Rental, Poas Rent a Car and PuraVida Car Rental. As soon as you get to this place is easy to check rates and get your rental car.
SUGGESTION: A 4x4 car is very good option, not only because the roads in Tamarindo but also for the rest of the country.
If you want more peace of mind and worry-free you can hire a private van for $180 approximately and it is for a maximum of 8 people with luggage. We do recommend hiring this type of services before arrival. Please contact us if you need our staff arranges it for you.
- From Liberia Airport. Landing at Liberia Airport. Aprox. Driving time 60 minutes.
o At the arrivals gate you can find taxi services with Vans or Sedan Cars. The Van Service is about $100 and the small car is $75.00
o Private Transportation, it works as taxi service with the same price but they do have bilingual drivers.
o Car Rentals, they are located surrounded the airport and as in San Jose Airport, you can show up at the counter and ask for rates. You can deal the best rate.
