Active Adventure

Badia Tours & Stables was established early 2009 and focus on quality rides for unique adventures, respectful of the culture, fauna and local environment. 5 and 6-day rides, departures every month, or tailor-made programs. Combines programs for riders & non-riders. Horses are Arabians and the tack is English. Discovery visits of Jordan (Petra, Dead & Red seas...) are available. Our guides are local Bedouins, English-speaking and experienced in guiding and riding for many years, born in desert

Typical Day

Day 5. We « climb » the Um Zelgah dunes, stopping at the well-known House from Lawrence of Arabia (named this way because Lauwrence spent a few nights in this house, but originally used by tribes to trade materials and products from Saudi Arabia, Syria...) . We then reach the great Um Rashid red dune, enjoying the view before descending the dune to reach high rocks with millennium engravings. Lunch will take place in Barrah canyon, famous for its great red cliffs, highly appreciated by climbers. After the break, we will ride towards Um Ishreen canyon so you can discover another look of this unique desert. We will make a stop at Um-Athan water dam on the way. We will sleep in Um Ishreen canyon. 5 hour ride for the day.

Age range, type of group

- Horses: Pure arabian horses and arab crosses, trained for rides, proud, energic, very nice and comfortable
- Stables: Our stables are located in the Wadi Rum village, inside the desert protected area
- Riding ability: confident intermediate to experienced riders - Children are welcome for riding as of 11 y. old as long as they know how to walk, trot and canter safely in an out-door environment.
- Pace: 5 to 6 hours of riding per day â€" daily trots and canters
- Group size: maximum of 8 riders
- Weight limit: 90 kgs (198 lbs.)
- Tack: English & French quality leather saddles, with large pocket pads and wool saddle protection to give you the maximum of comfort during the ride!
- Dates: departures on Monday mornings (possibility to arrive the night before) â€" End of the programme on Sunday morning

Sleeping and meals

- Accommodation: 5 nights in desert mobile camps, 6th night in a comfortable permanent camp
- Fresh meals cooked every time by experienced Bedouin cooks.
Appropriate for vegetarians, upon request.

Restrictions

- Children under 10 y.old
- For non riders: possibility to organise parallel programme with camel rides, Jeep tours, trekking / hiking... and to meet the riders at every meal

Rates

The total price for the 6 day ride is JOD 750 (A 5-day ride is also available at a cost of 650 JOD). Shorter rides available, upon request.
(30% deposit upon reservation by bank transfer, balance paid upon arrival)

The price includes:
Full Board package during the 6 days and 6 nights of the ride
Complete horse riding tack
Your guide (English speaking) during 6 days
Daily transportation of your luggage
