Built in the local traditional style, the delightful, 3 stars Samaina Port Hotel lies in Karlovassi harbour. The Hotel was opened in 1992. Situated just a few steps from the cafes and restaurants on the waterfront, it commands a panoramic view of the port and its daily routine. The hotel has 20 tastefully furnished rooms and three suites, all with private bath, radio, direct dial telephone, air-conditioning, refrigerator, TV (Greek channels) and balcony. Guests can take their meals in either the town's gracious restaurants or its simpler fast food shops. The settlement of Karlovassi is the second largest town of Samos with a population of about 5500 inhabitants. It is situated on the north-west part of the island. The town is divided into the Old and the New Karlovassi. Beautiful mansions and impressive churches embellish the town and testify about the glorious and wealthy past of the island.

Deserted tanneries still stand today, reminiscent of a time when commerce and trade flourished which brought wealth to the inhabitants of Karlovassi. This town is also where the first newspaper of Samos was published.

Directions

On leaving Samos Airport head west 10.5 km and the slightly turn left at Pyrgou-Choras. After 3.8 km continue on Karlovasou-Pyrgou next 20 km (all the way to the sea). Turn left and after approximately 2 km you will get to the hotel.
