Our beaut hostel is located in the heart of Port Campbell (pop. about 400), at the western end of the famous Great Ocean Road. We are a really easy 10-minute drive from some of the most spectacular and popular coastal attractions in Australia such as the 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, and are located in the heart of an area that offers loads to see for those guests motivated to get out there and get active!
Our humble hostel consistently ranks as one of the top rated hostels in Australia. (And, in particular, rates as one of the cleanest hostels you will find in this country.)
Our reception desk operates to reflect the normal travel patterns of the vast majority of people travelling on the Great Ocean Road. (We check guests in between 5.00pm and 8.00pm, with check-out by 10.00am the following day.) If you need to check-in earlier than 5.00pm, or later than 8.00pm, phone ahead to arrange that with the hostel.
In addition to living next door to what can be - arguably - one of the most spectacular sunset experiences in Australia at the 12 Apostles, the district surrounding our hostel provides opportunities to get into a range of outdoor activities suiting the young (or young at heart)... especially during the summer months!
Boat tours... cool water open sea diving... golf... mountain biking.... surfing... cricket... tennis... some cracker-jack walks... for those who are keen to give things a go, come and ask us at the counter.
We are proud of our stretch of coastline and welcome you, from wherever you call home, to our little village and our hostel to experience this neck of the woods, for yourselves.
Port Campbell Hostel . Victoria . Australia
PS: there is NO Vodafone coverage at all in Port Campbell, and poor Vodafone reception along the entire length of the Great Ocean Road. Please keep that in mind if you travelling with a vodafone connected mobile phone!
If you're coming into Port Campbell by bus: Get off at Port Campbell's only public bus-stop (outside the Port Campbell Surf Life Saving Club on Tregea Street). Walk up Tregea Street, away from the sea, following a row of Norfolk Pine trees on your left-hand-side. The hostel is the large sandstone brick building close to the end of those trees - it's on the corner of Tregea and Morris Streets, about 150m from the bus-stop.
