Solar da Ponte Verde is set in a private ecological reserve, developed years ago to protect the pristine mountains, forests and rivers of the area.

The main house has been built in a traditional style using a combination natural, local materials - Brazilian hardwood exposed beams and floors, carranca stone tile with embedded fossils, and the entire house is furnished with colonial-style antiques. Our superior chalet has its own living room with fireplace and kitchen.

Solar da Ponte Verde has excellent facilities, including a swimming pool and sundeck, a large Finnish sauna and relaxation room, a poolside bar, an entertainment room and a meditation labyrinth.

All meals are included in the rates: gourmet breakfasts of tropical fruits, hearty Brazilian lunches and light dinners. Our cuisine is an innovative combination of traditional Brazilian dishes and vegetarian ovo-lacto cooking.

We are happy to arrange guided walks or horseback rides to help you get back to nature and make the most of your surroundings.

At an altitude of 1,150 we enjoy a pleasant climate and rarely have the need for air conditioning or fans. Guest can make use of our high-speed internet connection.

Our daily rates include ALL 3 meals.
Check-in and check-out are flexible.
Please note that as we prepare all meals for guests in advance, we would appreciate as much notice as possible if you need to make a cancellation.
Payments to be made by cash. A 20% service charge is added to all prices.

Directions

By bus - nearest stop is the Petropolis inter-city bus station on the BR-040 highway, about 20 minutes from our place.

We are located just one hour's driving distance north of Rio de Janeiro International Airport via scenic mountain highway with easy access. Please contact us for directions and/or transportation suggestions. If you are in Rio or at the Rio airport, we can arrange to have you picked up by our reliable chauffeur taxi.

By car - We can provide driving directions for our guests. We are approximately 1.5 hours north of Rio de Janeiro by car.

By taxi - We have a very reliable taxi driver in Rio de Janeiro whom we frequently use who brings guests up here from the city or directly from the airport.
