The house itself is a huge colonial mansion, guarded by two magnificentbi-centenarian mango trees. Hence the name, Casa MangoMango! Resplendent with original features, the house has been restored and decorated in funky, upbeat designs to cater for every taste. And outside, in the lovely, tropical gardens, thereâ€Â™s a cool pool too!
Built by Julia Lopes, a Brazilian novelist, journalist, playwright, and lecturer, the house hosted many a sarau for the literati of the early 20th century. Today we try to keep her spirit alive by inviting local artists to display their work and employing local musicians on our multi-lingual staff.
Our musical and artisitic events may well be some of your best holiday memories in Brazil.

In order to guarantee your reservation, beside the 10% deposit made on WRI you will need to pay 50% in advance in order to secure your booking for those periods. We will contact you to send you the money transfer details.
From the International Airport: Catch REAL bus to the National Airport - Santos Dumont. Get a taxi over here, only 5 minutes, no more than 12,00 reais. If you schedule with us, we will pick you up.
From the bus station Novo Rio: catch bus number 127 or 128 get off at Nilo Pecanha Avenue, on the same Avenue catch the bus number 206 or 214, when it goes up the hill, start to look for the property number. Taxi is better, 15,00 reais maximum.
From Santos Dumont Airport: taxi is the only way up.
