We will be closed Jan 22-28, 2012 for Chinese New Year. Please be aware that shared bathrooms are located across the courtyard and you have to walk outside to access them.

Ming\'s Dynasty Hostel is found in the historical city of Chengde, the perfect place for a retreat away from big city life, as Qing dynasty emperors discovered over 200 years ago!

Ming\'s Dynasty is Chengde\'s first hostel. It\'s located several minutes walk from the main train station. Ming\'s Dynasty is run by an American woman and her Chinese husband. At Ming\'s Dynasty you will find East truly meets West! The owners bring together the best of both worlds through their knowledge of local life and culture, as well as through their understanding of foreign travelers\' needs.

Ming\'s Dynasty is a small hostel, which includes 18 rooms surrounding a small courtyard (Chinese siheyuan). A variety of rooms are available to insure you find a room that meets your expectations and budget. There is also a bar & cafe on-site where guests can relax, surf the internet (free WiFi), play board games, swap books, and enjoy a drink while meeting new friends.

Visiting Chengde\'s UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Summer Mountain Resort and Eight Outer Temples, can easily be done by bus, taxi, or bike. Information is provided for free at hostel check-in.

**Please Note: We are located near the train station and the trains often blow their horns. Please consider bringing earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

Directions

1. FROM TRAIN STATION: After exiting the train station, turn left onto the main road (Chezhan Lu). Continue walking, about 5-10 minutes, until you reach a small branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). After the ICBC, take a left down the alley. Ming's Dynasty Hostel will be on your left, between buildings 20 and 27. Look for our sign. If you cross the railroad tracks, you've walked too far.

2. FROM LONG DISTANCE BUS STATION: If you are coming from the long distance bus station take a taxi to the hostel (about 20 rmb) or bus 118 to Zhongjuzhai. From Zhongjuzhai station, walk back about 30 meters (towards the direction you came from) and turn left down a small alley way by the ICBC. Continue down until you see our sign on the left. Alternatively, bus 118 stops at the train station and you can find the hostel from there using the directions above (#1).

Directions for taxi driver: 我们去明朝国际青年酒店。在中居宅第五幼儿园对面。工商银行口进入。40米即到明朝国际青年酒店。
