About island of Rab
Rab island covers 93.6 square km. It is one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic and probably one of the most magical. It is covered with pine forests and has beautiful sandy beaches, and is well known for its mild climate which differs from the mainland.
Rab is linked to the mainland with good road and ferryboat connections. To the south, ferryboats on the route Mišnjak - Jablanac (a place 105 km. far from Rijeka). The journey lasts 12 minutes. During the tourism season all the four ferries are running as long as there are vehicles to transport, regardless of schedule. You buy the tickets before entering the ferry at the charging office.
Jadrolinija's catamaran connect Rab with Rijeka in both directions, during the whole year (http://www.jadrolinija.hr/default.aspx?lang=2). A coach line connects Rab with Rijeka throughout the whole year and also with Zagreb, in the summer period.
