Directions to Coffeeriver Cottage:
'only 1 Mile from Melville Airport'
When leaving the airport, you turn right across the bridge. go straight on a rugged road, this is where your adventure in Dominica begins, so it is straight ahead from the bridge, sharp right, past a autobody shop. Keep coming until you come to a cement bridge, sign there for Coffeeriver,
DO NOT CROSS THAT BRIDGE,
Take a left, then keep following the road up through Banana fields, to the top of the little hill, stay to the right and we are the second driveway, entrance to the right. You should see the sign close to the ground that says
COFFEERIVER COTTAGES.
You will go towards a banana shed and then down our concrete drive to the bottom. YOU ARE THERE, keep on coming until you see the buildings.

Getting There
Although we've no international airport, we do have two smaller airports. Melville Hall (code:DOM) is the larger of the two and is approx 60 minutes from Roseau. Canefield (DCF) is smaller but is just 15 minutes from Roseau. Coffeeriver Cottages is Only 1 Mile from Melville Hall Airport (code:DOM)
As of September 2010, Melville Hall Airport offers night landing and is open until 10 pm.

Main airlines (see below) serving Dominica include LIAT, BVI Airways, and American Eagle. Major hubs in the region with flights to Dominica include Antigua, San Juan, St. Lucia, St Martin, Tortola and Barbados.
The neighbouring French islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe are also convenient hubs for flights from Europe to Dominica.
Additionally, there is a ferry service operating on a regular basis to Dominica. Please note that the ferry service is suspended for maintenance in or around September every year.

Booking hire cars?
Clear road signs are often found lacking, roads are narrow with winding bends often in mountainous areas, and are generally without shoulders. Should you rent a car, 'walk away' insurance coverage may be a worthwhile investment. Be aware that many car rental agency insurance policies have very high deductibles and don't cover items such as a cut tire. Honk at all blind turns. Beware of obstacles hidden in the grass and ferns along-side the roadways. Also be aware that due to landslides, driving to some popular areas (like the village of Laudat) should never be attempted by non-locals. Hire a taxi below.
Both taxis and rental cars are available, because of this renters should keep in mind that the quality and price of cars could vary from dealer to dealer. Also important to note is that those wanting to rent a car in Dominica must pay a fee (about $12 US) to obtain a Dominican driving permit. Drivers in the country without such permits may be subject to stiff traffic penalties. Some companies which rent cars on the island are Accessories Plus, Best Deal, Budget , Courtesy, and Road Runner. Island Car Rentals Ltd should be added.
