Hostel Mansikka is a small and homely inn, with a friendly service for a refreshing and unforgettable vacation. IT was completed in January 2002 as a result of hard work and determination. Hostel Mansikka is a warm and attractive inn for guests who are looking for relaxing and variation. We serve our guests with dedication and we want them to feel like home. Hostel Mansikka is located in Taipalsaari about 18 kilometres from Lappeenranta and it is surrounded by beautiful Finnish scenery. Hostel is only about 400 metres away from the beautiful Saimaa- lake. The hotel is open all year.

In our Hostel Mansikka there are six rooms for 2-4 people. Some of the rooms include bathroom (shower and toilet) and there is a TV and a radio in every room. There is a cosy dining room for about 40 people. There you can enjoy typical Finnish and Central European dishes. There is a sauna in the hostel. There is room for 6-8 people and of course there are also showers, dressing room, towels etc. It is possible to put up a tent in the yard.

Hostel Mansikka offers you a choice of different kinds of programmes, for example guided tours, organised nature-, cycle- and canoe-trips, snowmobile safaris, cross country skiing, mini camping with sanitary provisions, cruises and excursions. It is possible to arrange parties and meetings in the hostel according to your wishes. In January 2004, guests can start to use the internet freely and for kids we have Play Station computer games. Here you can buy delicious strawberries in the summer time and we have also souvenirs for sale. It is possible to rent a cosy and advantageous summerhouse with private beach on the Saimaa-lake.

Directions

When coming from Helsinki, take the course of Lahti/ Kouvola. Drive to Lappeenranta from Kouvola (road number 6).Then follow the direction of ''keskusta'' and then ''Taipalsaari'' (road number 408).Turn right afther about 13 kilometres. There is a gas station on the left (St 1). After turning, follow this way about 4 kilometres and turn then right to the direction of ''Vehkataipale'' (Vehkataipale 7). You arrive afther about 300 metres to a bridge (Toijan silta). Drive about 200 metres afther the bridge and turn right to ''Huuhtiaisenlahdentie''.

It's the second building on the right looking from the bridge .
