Welcome to Matsuya Ryokan Zenkoji Temple, an authentic Japanese style inn with a history of 150 years! We are a family-run small and cozy timber-structured Hotel, located INSIDE the grounds of the the world famous Zenkoji Temple. We are a popular ryokan among Japanese travellers. Since we used to be one of the major spots of Zenoji Temple, we have a Jizo -- one of the most popular Buddhist bodhisattvas in Japan -- at our front door. If you want a full experience of Japanese culture, we assure you that our ryokan is absolutely the right choice!

We have 14 guest rooms, 7 of which have their own bathrooms. There are both Japanese style and western style rooms, all very peaceful and comfortable​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Breakfast and dinner are served in the guest rooms. You can enjoy seasonal "Kaiseki-ryori", the delicious traditional Japanese multi-course dinner, with friends and family.

We have 1 banquet hall, 2 large public bathrooms. Our bath is hot mineral water bath, very relaxing and refreshing, and good for health. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​We have vending machines in the building. A drink definitely feels great after a hot bath.

.Breakfast is 1575yen per person, Japanese style, served in the guest room.

.Yukata (Japanese style bathrobe), towels, and toothbrush are provided FREE of charge.

From Nagoya:
From JR Nagoya Station to JR Nagano Station, by (Wide-View)shinano express train, 173 min.

From Osaka:
From JR Shin-osaka Station, take Nozomi Shinkansen to JR Nagoya Station, 51 min, ​then follow the above ​​​​​​direction from JR Nagoya Station.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

After arriving at JR Nagano Station, get out from Zenkoji Exit of Nagano Station, and walk along the Chuo Street, also called Zenkoji-omotesando, towards Zenkoji Temple. We are located right in front of the temple, on the left side of Chuo Street. It is a 25 min walk.
You can also take a taxi, which is a 10 min ride.
If you take a bus from Nagano Station, get off at Zenkoji-daimon bus stop.
