INFORMATION: Information on Riga and Latvia is supplied and updated by staff who are locals with plenty of hostel experience and good language skills. You will receive a free map of Riga upon your arrival and enough information to get you around Riga for a few exciting and informative days.

TOURS: If you fancy something a bit more active the staff will take you to unload a few rounds with AK47 or take you to the national park to slide down the bobsled track in a real bobsled with the Olympic champions. In the summer you can bungee jump out of a cable car or have a relaxing day canoeing down the stream on Gauja river.

Directions

Airport:
Exit the arrivals and head accross the car park to the bus stop. Bus 22 comes every 15 - 20 mins from 5 am to 1 am. Take the bus (fare - 0.70 LVL) to the stop called Stockmann - it is the 2nd stop after you have crossed Daugava river. Keep walking up this street in the same direction as the traffic for about 50 m. You will reach a set of stairs leading down into a tunnel. Walk down the stairs and along the tunnel until you come to what is effectively a roundabout (with shops in the middle) with many stairs leading out of the tunnel in all directions. To find the stairs to take, start walking around this 'roundabout' in a clockwise direction - taking the fourth stairway out. You should surface on ground level on Marijas street. Keep walking straight ahead until you come to McDonalds and turn left. The doorway that leads to the elevator, that takes you to the hostel, is just under the letter M in the sign that says 'McDonalds'. Take elevator to the 3rd floor. Welcome!!!

International Bus Station:
The buses arrive at the rear of the bus station in the large arrival area that is parallel to the river. So you must first walk into the bus terminal and then exit the terminal though its main entrance to the area where the taxis wait. After exiting the terminal, cross the street, then turn left and walk under the bridge. When you come to the corner of the large Stockman shopping centre, turn right at the corner and keep walking for about 50 m. You will reach a set of stairs leading down into a tunnel. Walk down the stairs and along the tunnel until you come to what is effectively a roundabout (with shops in the middle) with many stairs leading out of the tunnel in all directions. Main Train Terminal Riga:
When exiting the train terminal, make sure you walk towards the city centre, not towards the Central Market. (You will have plenty of time to visit that later). Depending which exit you take, you will exit a bit closer or a bit further from Origo shopping centre that is attached to the train station. If you look across the street you will see McDonalds on one of the street corners - that's where you are heading. If you don't see McDonalds, walk towards the traffic lights at the far end of Origo, cross the two streets with traffic lights, one after the other. On the left side of the street you will definitely see McDonalds. To the right from McDonalds is the entrance to the Cinnamon Sally's. The doorway that leads to the elevator, that takes you to the hostel, is just under the letter M in the sign that says 'McDonalds'. Take elevator to the 3rd floor. Welcome!!!!

NB.If you get lost and turn to locals for advice, they will not know the hostel but they will for sure know the Station McDonalds! :)
