For those who want to discover the area why not exploring Saffron Walden, Thaxted, Dunmow, Stansted Mountfitchet and Hatfield Forest (great for walking). Cambridge, Duxford Imperial Air Museum and Air Shows, Audley End House & Gardens, Wimpole Hall or Quendon Hall are all easily reached by car.

Directions

By Train
From London Liverpool Street Station or Cambridge: Stop at Bishop's Stortford which has a taxi rank, the taxi fare will be cheaper than from the airport, Stansted Mountfitchet or Stansted Airport mainline stations.

By Car
From Puckeridge A120 - As you approach Bishop's Stortford at the first roundabout take 1st left signposted A120 Colchester and M11. At the next roundabout take the 1st left exit signposted Newport and Stansted Mountfitchet B1383. Travel for 500 yards and turn right into Birchanger Lane, singnposted 'Birchanger Village Only'.
Follow lane approximately half a mile and Harrisons is on the right. No 33 is the 4th house on the left.


From M11 (Junction 8) - Take the exit signposted Hertford/Bishop's Stortford A120. At the second roundabout take right hand turning signposted 'Birchanger Village Only'. Travel approximately 1 mile and Harrisons is on the left. No 33 is the 4th house on the left.



By Bus

From Stansted Airport 7/7A stops in our village 2 minutes walk from our house, or 510 (runs 24 hr) stops at the bottom of our lane which is a 10 minutes walk to our house.
