On Friday evening there are two warm up routes with the longer route going into Shipshewana. The Saturday routes offer smooth, quiet roads, where buggies are numerous and cars are few. There are Amish bakeries, restaurants and homemade ice cream parlors along the route for riders who want to "get a taste" of the local flavor. The Sunday routes head north into southwestern Michigan and wind along quiet, gently rolling wooded hills dotted with lakes. This will be the 40th annual Amishland and Lakes ride.Participants who need lodging may choose to stay on campus in Cadet rooms, sleep in the Gymnasium, camp on the Howe Campus or stay at one of the many area hotels.

Typical Day

Amishland and Lakes is famous for great SAG food (watermelons, peaches, blueberries, bananas and fresh baked cookies), and there are Amish bakeries, restaurants and homemade ice cream parlors along the route for riders who want to "get a taste" of the local flavor.
