Our riding program offers two, 2-hour rides daily while breaking the adult riders (10 and older) into three categories of novice, intermediate, and advanced level abilities. The intermediate and above riders have the opportunity to go on two all-day rides during the week along with an overnight pack trip mid-week for a nominal fee. On Saturday, all riders, young and old, can participate in our Gymkhana (games on horseback).
A typical day will begin with a hearty breakfast in the lodge. At 9am, the first ride heads out the gate for a two-hour adventure. Lunch is served family-style back at the lodge, after which the second two-hour ride leaves at 2pm. At 5pm, Happy Hour starts, while the kids eat at 6pm with their babysitter or Kiddie Wrangler. At 6:30 the adults head up to the lodge for their plated dinner. Evening activities vary and start between 7 and 9. Tuesday and Thursdays are the all-day rides, while Wednesday the overnight pack trip leaves. Saturday includes the gymkhana and square dance. Tuesday and Fridays include cookouts.
Age range, type of group
We are a true family-oriented vacation, with activities for all ages. Our children's program is top-notch in our industry. The Small Fries, ages 0-5, have a ranch babysitter who takes care of them during the morning and afternoon rides. Our Kiddie Wrangler corrals the Rough Riders, ages 6-9, on their twice-daily rides; the Kiddie Wrangler and Babysitter eat lunch and dinner with their children so you are free to join the adults at Happy Hour and dinner. The kids all go on an 'all-day' picnic one day during the week. The older children, 10-17, are thrilled with our daily rides and lightly structured activities; they eat lunch and dinner with their various age groups and create fast friendships before the week is over.
Sleeping and meals
Our Montana ranch accommodations and family cabins are of log construction built in the true Montana style. Homemade furniture and quilts made right here on the ranch grace each one. The cabins have private baths, most with tub/shower combinations, and range from single- bedroom cabins up to three- or four- bedroom cabins to accommodate larger family groups. Most are heated with wood stoves.
Meals are served in the Dining Room and are home-cooked, family style… very informal with no dressing up for dinner expected. Several outdoor meals are scheduled each week including a late afternoon ride to dinner. Tables are grouped to match children's age brackets… teenagers with teenagers, and a 'small fry' table with the Kiddie Wrangler and Babysitter. Adults are shifted with place markings for social variety. Dinner is served early to the children while Mom and Dad are relaxing and enjoying Happy Hour in the rustic lounge. We furnish only the ice and mixers (BYOB). You will enjoy the easy, informal atmosphere at the Nine Quarter Circle.
No pets. Smoking only outside of cabins. Our Weight Limit for riding is 250 pounds. Pregnant Women will not be allowed to ride. You must be physically able to mount your horse unassisted.
