Beginner dog sledding
One Night/Two Days This is our most popular adventure where you'll get to drive your own dog team. Many of our our touring dogs are some of Ed's Iditarod veterns and hopefuls. On this adventure, you will learn the basics of mushing
, how to drive a dog team, and spend one night winter camping in our heated tent. No experience is necessary as you will be under the care of one of our fabulous, experienced guides. Each guest will drive his or her OWN dog team (no shared sleds). Cost: $450/person weekdays and $500/person weekends and holidays.
1/2 Day Trip: This option gives you the opportunity to drive your own dog team on our 10 mile mini-loop. You will receive a kennel tour, brief instruction and your own dog team. Drivers must be over 8 years old. Allow approximately 3 hours for all instruction, trip, and a great snack at the end of your tour. Our ˝ day tours run from 9am-noon or 1-4 pm.
Cost: $175/person to drive. If someone in your party prefers to ride, the cost is $85/rider. If you just have two riders (no sled drivers) the cost is $200 for the sled (two passengers).
Full-Day Trip: This option gives you the opportunity to drive your own dog team for a full day. You will receive a kennel tour, brief instruction and your own dog team. The full day trip includes a break along the trail for hot coco and a light lunch. Drivers must be over 8 years old. Our full day tours run from 10am-3 pm. Cost: $300/person. It is possible to add a rider to your trip, the cost for a RIDE ONLY is $150 per person. The rider will ride in the GUIDE'S sled.
Full Moon Rides: Sled dogs LOVE to run at night, so here's your chance to ride along on a moonlit winter night! Our full moon rides take place at night on selected winter evenings. This is a RIDE ONLY. Your guide will drive the sled (using headlamp if necessary) as you snuggle in the sled while the dogs cruise down the winter trail. Please arrive at Nature's Kennel at 7:30 pm. Cost: $200 per sled. Our sleds accommodate up to two adults or an adult and two children.
Age range, type of group
Trips are suitable for all ages, infant through senior. Children must be over 8 years old to drive their own dog team on our day trips and over 10 years old for our overnight trips.
