Our stunning swimming pool is a centre of attraction - cool off in the water, drink at the pool bar, sunbathe on one of our many comfy loungers, relax in the shade or socialise on the deck.

Spacious cabins, all with en-suite, outdoor bathrooms, can each accommodate up to 4 people, with flexibility on double or single beds available.

The Beat Bar, Sunset Lounge and kitchen are all well stocked, artistically designed and sociable. A selection of international brand names are on sale at the bar, but local spirits are an incredibly cheap and popular alternative.

Weekly movie nights and parties are hosted in the Sunset Lounge, where the excellent sound system and fantastic canopy views create an incredible venue to watch cult and modern classics or simply dance the night away.

The braai area is well equipped with large double grills hosting regular feasts, with a number of picnic tables and seating areas creating a wonderful outdoor dining scene.

In addition, the fire-pit and numerous scattered hammocks provide excellent alternatives for either meeting new people or hiding away if you prefer.

Plus, we pride ourselves on great service, keen organisation, fantastic people and a soundtrack to make life feel just that little bit sweeter.

We provide airport pick ups and daily drops to the dive schools and beaches.

Children and Families welcome.

All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult when using the swimming pool.

The swimming pool is open from 7am to 10pm.

Directions

Flying directly to the capital, Maputo, can be quite expensive. In most cases it makes more sense to take a flight to Johannesburg.

From there, you can either:

* Rent a car (no 4WD needed, but can be beneficial)

Drive to Nelspruit and cross the border at Komatipoort (5hours from JoBurg).

From Maputo, follow the signs to Xai-Xai, and from there simply go further northwards, until the turning for Inhambane, (approximately 8-10 hours drive).

Entering Inhambane, follow the signs for Tofo.

When you arrive in Tofo, look for the signs for MBM and Turtle Cove on your right hand side.

4x4s - Where the road sharply turns to the left (there is a local bar on the corner, shops on your right hand side), take the sandroad uphill to the right. After about 200 meters, where the road forks, follow it to the right, drive along our neighbouring guesthouse Turtle Cove and then take the first left to finally arrive at your beloved MBM.

2wd - Go past the junction described above for 4x4s, and take the 2nd right (which almost doubles back on the main tar road) up to the top of the hill. Follow the road roughly 500m and take the 2nd right turn onto Rua dos Amandoas.

Follow this road all the way to the end (up and down another bumpy hill) and take a right at the facing T-junction. From this road, take a left when it forks by neighbouring guesthouse Turtle Cove and then take the first left to finally arrive at your beloved MBM.

The main roads in South Africa and Mozambique are good, but be prepared - driving from Johannesburg (about 1000 kilometers) will take at least two days. We recommend stopping over at the excellent Funky Monkey Backpackers in Nelspruit to break up the journey. From there, you can definitely drive in 1 day up to MBM, which takes approximately 10-12 hours.

* Take a shortcut

Fly from Johannesburg to Inhambane with LAM. You'll be delivered in 1 hour and 30 minutes. We'll pick you up at the airport, only 20 kilometers away from Mozambeat Motel.

* Take the bus

As long as you've readied yourself for an unpredictable journey, full of livestock, regular stops and hot temperatures, this is one of the most authentic ways to carry out your African adventure.

We recommend the CityBug from JoBurg to Nelspruit, super-efficient and only R350, where can you stay at the excellent Funky Monkey Backpackers.

There are buses and chappas running daily from Nelspruit to Maputo, prices are negotiable, but the journey should not take more than 2 hours on the road, (not including border crossing).

Buses from Maputo to Inhambane or Tofo are regular and take more than 8 hours - how long exactly is a mystery and part of the mystique, your guess is as good as ours!
