Welcome to my heritage listed Art Deco home in Glen Eden, West Auckland that is central to the Wild West Coast beaches, Waitakere tramping tracks, the Auckland CBD and beyond. I am offering a relaxed home environment away from the busy city where you can plan your travels around New Zealand, or for the return home. Also ideal for guests attending Weddings/functions in West Auckland/Waitakere area.
Public transport (buses, trains), large supermarket and organic shops (grocer and butcher) are all just a short walk away.
The lounge, kitchen and dining areas of the house are shared. Open fires on cold Winter evenings. Each bedroom has excellent beds/bedding, heaters in Winter, TV with remote. Bathrooms are also shared.
Easy access to Mt Eden Rugby Park by train (Glen Eden to Morningside stop).
There is self help continental breakfast available which includes my home made muesli. Guests also welcome to help themselves to tea and coffee.
WiFi internet is available.
If travelling by car, take the North Western Motorway exit at Waterview/Avondale. Follow Great North Road, but where it forks to the left in Avondale go straight ahead past the Avondale Race Course. At New Lynn traffic light intersection of Titirangi Road, Great North road turn right into Great North Road and at the Kelston Shopping centre, turn left and you are on West Coast Road. House is at the top of the hill on the left.
If by Air, take an airport shuttle (Super Shuttle) and be delivered to our door for approx $45. Otherwise take the Airport Bus ($12.50 each) which goes to Auckland city (every 15 mins). Airport is 22km from Kiwi Heritage Homestay.
From the city you can either catch the train or bus.
If by Train, enter the Britomart Train station and catch the train to Glen Eden (Western line). At Glen Eden, go the main road shopping centre which is West Coast Road. You simply need to walk up the hill to our house. This is about an eight minute walk.
If by Bus, catch a Go West bus number 154, 163 Glen Eden. When you get to Kelston Shopping Centre (McDonalds and Countdown, about 30 minutes travel time), get off two stops past here. We are at number 52 West Coast Road.
