We have two double rooms (also bookable as single), each of which has its own connecting living/breakfast room and its own room for luggage, so there's lots of space for you to spread out.
One of the rooms has access to a balcony, with views across to distant hills which can be admired over breakfast from the adjoining room. Our other room has a larger living room and an extra bed, making it also suitable for a group of three people to share. (If you come as a group of 4 or 5 people we can let out the whole of the upper floor to you.) Both our rooms have comfortable lounge seating and good lighting, tea and coffee making facilities, access to a fridge, and free WiFi.
We serve a full breakfast with a generous cold Swedish selection, and hot cooked options. We also cater for wheat and gluten free diets. Breakfasts are served in guests' own rooms, but can be taken downstairs in our dining area if preferred.
There is a large modern shower room on the upper floor, and in our basement we have a sauna which you are welcome to use. We will also do your laundry if requested. (Laundry and sauna charged extra). There is plenty of parking on site.
People stay at 68 degrees (b and b) for many different reasons. You may be coming to see the midnight sun, to trek in the huge empty mountain area nearby in the long summer days. Or you may come to experience the stunning winter landscape, drive snow mobiles or take a tour with local husky dogs. Kiruna and the mountain area nearby is one of the best places in the world to see the northern lights, and usually we even watch them from our house. We will always help our guests make the most of all these opportunities.
We are only a short bus ride from the world famous Ice Hotel where you can take a tour of the ice sculpted rooms and have a drink in the Ice Bar. In the same village on the Torne river is the old village church where you will find inscriptions made by travellers from as early as the 17th century, when they thought they were near the end of the world.
Kiruna church is a few minutes' walk from us, and has been voted by Swedish people as Sweden's most beautiful building. The town of Kiruna overlooks the iron ore mine which is the largest underground iron ore mine in the world and is visible from almost everywhere here. You can visit the mine and go underground, and you can see where areas have been emptied as the major project to move the town to make way for the mine's expansion is becoming a reality. A ten minute walk from us are opportunities for downhill and cross country skiing, and wonderful views out to the mountains and hills in all directions.
We are always happy to offer guidance to guests on how to make the most of a stay here, and we really enjoy sharing our knowledge of the area and finding out about your interests. We can recommend local tour companies to use, or ways of doing things more independently to suit your budget. We look forward to meeting you at 68 degrees.
Directions
Kiruna airport is a ten minute drive away and Kiruna railway station is a fifteen minute walk away, and we can collect you from either if you let us know when you will arrive.
To find your own way, head for Kiruna church and then down Kyrkogatan, and when you see Artica Pizzeria turn into Tv�rgatan, and we are the very last house on the right. If you are walking you can also reach us from Adolf Hedinsv�gen, but please note there is no vehicle access from that side.
