Typical Day
Desert Dream Experience for 5 days/4 nights
Marrakech > Dades Valley > Erg Chebbi > Marrakech
Day 1:
Depart Marrakech and drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the pass of Tizi n' Tichka to Ouarzazate. You will visit the exotic Kasbah of Aďt Benhaddou; This beautiful example of southern Moroccan architecture has been used as a backdrop for over 20 films including Lawrence of Arabia, Jewel of the Nile, The Mummy, and Gladiator. After lunch,you will continue to Ouarzazate center where you can visit the Atlas Studios. visit Kasbah of Taourirt that was a residence of the Glaoui Dynasty. You will continue to the Rose Valley and visit the amazing Kasbah of Amerhidil in Skoura. This Kasbah is situated by the Amerhidil River and is one of the largest in Morocco. You will spend the night in Kelat Magouna.
Day 2:
After breakfast you depart for the Dadčs Gorges via the valley and stop to enjoy the spectacular scenery while sipping on mint also known as 'Berber Whiskey'. You will continue to Tinghir via Boulman Dadčs and visit this area lush with beautiful palm trees. The journey continues on to Todra Gorges where you will enjoy a leisurely lunch. After lunch you will continue to Merzouga where you will spend your first night in a traditional kasbah alongside Erg Chebbi dunes.
Day 3 : Erg Chebbi, Khamlia, Sahara Desert.
After breakfast, we will make an amazing excursion of the desert dunes where you will have the opportunity to see the amazing changing contrasts of the desert. We will visit the black village of Khamlia to watch the Gnawa musicians, mines of Mifiss, the plates desert meeting the Berber nomads of the desert, oasis Tissardemine, and return to the hotel for camel trekking into the fascinating Erg Chebbi Dunes. You will spend the evening in a Desert Camp, enjoy a Moroccan dinner, listen to the berber music, and sleep in a traditional Nomad camel and goats hair tent.
Day 4 : Merzouga, Rissani, Alnif, Nkoub, Ouarzazate.
Wake-up to a spectacular sunrise in the desert and enjoy breakfast. Bivouac trekkers will return by camel and continue to the small town of Rissani where you will visit the Ksours and Kasbahs of Tafilalt, stopping in the Tafilalt Palm Grove on the way. you will visit the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif (mausoleum of the Alaouit dynasty's founder) and experience the local market day in Rissani to see the traditional souks. Next, continue to Ouarzazate via Alnif, Tazarine, Drra Valley, Agdz, visiting the Tamnougalt Kasbah. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 5
Enjoy breakfast and continue the journey to Marrakech via the Pass of Tizi n'Tichka over the High Atlas Mountains stopping along the way for lunch and to enjoy the beautiful, picturesque scenery.
