The self-catering Almaty hostel offers simply furnished rooms and dormitories with either a private or shared bathroom. Bed linen and towels are provided.
Kok-Tobe Mountain is a 10-minute drive from Hostel Almaty, and there are several scenic hiking routes in the area. Almaty Hostel even offers an on-site climbing wall for guest use.
The Central State Museum and the Sports Palace are just 12 km from the hostel. A shuttle service into the city centre or to Almaty Airport is available for an extra fee, and free parking is provided.
Directions
The location is next to 'Presidents Park'. In a taxi, you should ask for the road to 'Almarasan'. The Hostel will be on your left as you drive up the hill. It has a very large climbing wall on the side of the hostel which towers above all the surrounding buildings, so you can't miss it.

A Taxi from the train station is about 1500Tg.
Busses are complex and its too far to walk.
On a bycicle, head for the mountains, ask for President's Park, then Almarasan.
