Locality
Mountain resort is situated in the beatufil alpine surroundings of Horný Smokovec, one of the recently established High Tatras settlements, which is an important point in the central part of the High Tatras. Mountain resort consists of two objects side by side (30 m). In the main building is located reception, hotel rooms, conference room, where breakfast is served and place for children. In the next building (depandance) are situated apartments and studios with kitchen. Mountain resort is located near the Tatra electric railway station connected all tourist and ski centres in the High Tatras (Štrbské pleso, Starý Smokovec, Tatranská Lomnica). In summer, the Mountain resort is an suitable point of departure to Sliezsky house, Slavkovský peak, Zbojnícka cottage, Skalnaté tarn, excursions to Poprad, Kežmarok, Belianska cave or thermal resort in Vrbov. There is the footpath near the hotel connected Starý Smokovec, Dolný Smokovec and Tatranská Lomnica suitable for walking and cykling.
Boarding
Breakfast can be ordered and served in the main building. There is possibility of self catering when booked studios/apartments with kitchenette.
Parking
Directly at the Aplend Mountain Resort object is located parking space for cars. Parking is free of charge.

Sport and fun
In the near area there are several starting points to the hiking trails, tenis courts, golf, mini golf, ski lifts, skating ring, pool, thermal baths, lots of various restaurants. Within 4 km you can find botanical garden presenting many wild-growing plants and flowers from Tatras area and also Museum of Tatras National Park, where the wild animals of Tatra mountains are exposed.
Hiking: the most popular activity of this area. Starting points for hiking trails are in walking distance, alternatively there is possibility to take Tatra electric railway, which stop is within 100 m. Hiking trails are spread all around High Tatras. In attitude of approximately 2000m.s.l. you can find mountain cottages with possibility of rest and sleep in case of longer and more demanding tour. There are easier and more advance trails and also plenty of climbing opportunities.Nature lovers will discover wonderfull valleys, lakes and tarns.
Climbing: This area is well known to climbers for its excellent climbing opportunities. Hand plotted maps and eplanations of various kinds of climbing can be found in mountain huts.
Biking: There are plenty of excellent cycling routes, both natural and challenging for experienced cyclists or conventional asphalt roads between towns and villages of the High Tatras. There are several rentals where you can rent mountain bikes.
Skiing: At a distance of 4 km from Aplend Mountain Resort is a ski resort Tatranska Lomnica (the largest in the High Tatras), from which the chairlifts will take you up to 2200 m.s.l. where you will find challenging slopes for moderate skiers. Around 4 km is also a number of lifts for beginners with, easy terrain. There are ski schools and private lessons are affordable. Directly in the High Tatras and surroundings are also several other ski resorts.
Tennis: The recently opened sports hall (approximately 4 km away) offers the opportunity to play tennis at any time throughout the year. In summer you can use the outdoor tennis courts.G
Golf: approximately 7 km from Horny Smokovec is situated 27 pitch golf court in interesting mountain area www.golftatry.sk. Thermal bath: Aquacity Poprad in 12km distance www.aquacityresort.com. Within 20 km thermal bath Vrbove.

Directions

Mountain Resort is situated in Horny Smokovek at main street on left hand side direction Tatranska Lomnica. Tram station is situated only 200 meters from apaarthotel.

From direction Kosice:
On highway in front of entrance of city of Poprad one's way by sign Poprad Zapad, letisko Vysoke Tatry (Poprad West Airport, High Tatras). Take an exit from highway and keep driving direction Vysoke Tatry - Stary Smokovek. In Stary Smokovek right behind rail crossing turn right direction Tatranska Lomnica. Mountain resort is situated on your left hand side main street.

From direction Roznava:
By the entrance of city of Poprad please continue to main street. Aprox. after 1 km you get to traffic roundabout, take 3rd exit by Hotel Poprad you get to part of the city Poprad. - Vel'ka. On your right hand side you can see Billa shop, keep driving on main street. At the end of part of Poprad-Vel'ka on your left hand side you can seea cemetery, please just continue. Cross rail crossing and drive aprox. 5 km to the village of Vel'ky Slavkov. Next village is Nova Lesna. Crossing by Nova Lesna you get on roundabout turn to right - direction Dolny Smokovec. Keep driving on main street at the end is situated rail crossing. After rail crossing turn left and 200 meters is already situated Mountain resort Horny Smokovec....
