Negrar is a traditional old town in a beautiful valley in Valpolicella. The apartments are in a pleasant residential area, surrounded by vineyards and with wonderful views of the hills of Valpolicella and the Lessinia mountains. The area is quiet and safe for children and has an attractive park/play area for parents and children. The owners, Mario (Italian) and Anne (British), also run the nearby Parry Bed and Breakfast and are available to help you organize your stay in Negrar. If you like they will organize trips to some of the local Valpolicella vineyards where you will be able to taste some of the finest local wines including top of the market Amarone and Recioto. Just come by in the morning and have a chat and a coffee and we will help you to plan your time in Negrar and the surrounding area. Negrar is an ideal centre for relaxation and country walks but also for trips to lake Garda, Verona, Venice and the mountains, and for evenings at the Verona Arena for the Opera season.
Vacation Rental Property
Mario Apartments are in a quiet residential area, with a large play area for children and Lidl supermarket just round the corner. There is no traffic because the road to the apartments is a dead end, but a small path continues into the fields through the vineyards, past villa
Rizzardi, with its famous gardens and on towards our favourite restaurant 'Le Vigne' in San Peretto (bring a torch!) The apartments are 8 minutes' walk from the centre of Negrar, a small town with everything you need including a wide range of excellent restaurants, a few food and clothes shops and a first class hospital, which is one of the main employers in the area along with wine producers and stone and marble companies. Lake Garda is only 30 minutes away - ask us for the best restaurants and places to visit.

Mario and Anne will be happy to arrange visits to some of our local vineyards and wineries ('cantine') during your stay with us. Just let us know and we will arrange the visits there is usually no charge for this service, but you will need your own transport.
Alternatively we can organize a guided tour of the Valpolicella vineyards with wine-tasting, including visits to some of the less well-known 'cantine' where you will be able to taste a variety of wines Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella Superiore, Ripasso (if available), Amarone and Recioto. You will learn about the wine-making process and see the different stages of production, depending on the time of year. You will also see the beautiful hills of Negrar and the adjacent valleys with their vineyards and olive groves. The tour can be arranged for small groups of 2-4 people, and you will not need your own transport, so there will be no problem with drinking and driving after the wine-tasting.
How to find us
If you arrive in Brescia airport or Milan Orio al Serio airport (near Bergamo ), or at other points west of Verona , take the A4 motorwa y towards Venice (Venezia). After the Sommacampagna exit, follow the signs for Brennero and take the A22 Modena-Brennero motorway * north in the direction of Brennero for 3 km . . Leave the motorway at Verona Nord and ** be careful to follow the signs to Pescantina - Valpolicella. You are now on the tangenziale (by pass " a dual carriageway which you must follow for about 12- 15 km ). Do NOT take any of the roads off the tangenziale to Verona , Trento or Pescantina. Continue on the same road in the direction of the hills following signs to Valpolicella until you come to the large roundabout at San Pietro in Cariano
At the roundabout, turn right following the signs for Negrar. Drive through San Pietro in Cariano (another large roundabout " follow the signs to Negrar), San Floriano (straight on) and Pedemonte (straight on) and when you reach Santa Maria , turn left at the roundabout following signs to Negrar.
Go straight on through San Vito to Negrar.
When you arrive in Negrar, go straight on over two roundabouts (the first roundabout is opposite the supermarket Famila, the second has a large sundial which is the new symbol of Negrar). Continue straight on until you reach the bridge with a pedestrian crossing and traffic lights. Turn right over the bridge and park IMMEDIATELY " don't follow the road round or you will miss us. Walk to the back of the little car park and take the pathway following the signs to Parry BnB " look down! Our house is the fifth on the left. Go up the steps and ring the bottom bell on the left.
From Venice and all points east, take the A4 to Verona, go past the Verona Est and Verona Sud exits and take the A22 Brennero motorway and continue from * above.
If you arrive in the main Verona airport (Valerio Catullo airport), take the by-pass (tangenziale) towards Verona , just outside the airport. As soon as you are on the tangenziale look for signs for Trento and Valpolicella and continue from ** above.
