Surrounding Area
A couple of minutes from the centre of Mare Gaillard, this small town offers everything for your daily needs including bakeries for fresh bread and cakes in the morning, mini markets, pharmacies, fruit and vegetable stands, but it also offers direct transport from the two bus stops to the nearby towns and cities of Gosier, Sainte Anne and Pointe a Pitre.
You can also call a taxi, but we recommend hiring a car for touring Guadeloupe as we are not famous for our reliable transportation system!
It is possible to rent a car for 28 euros per day upon request, or 350 euros per month. Prices depending upon the season, of course.
We do not recommend hiring scooters or bicycles to navigate the roads of Guadeloupe.

E.Gwada offers both dormitories and private rooms. The dormitory hosts 4 people, the private rooms come in both singles and doubles and twin.
-Single rooms come with a comfortable single bed.
-Double rooms come with a king size bed.
-Twin rooms have two single beds and are possible to be booked for a single person, but the same price for two people must be paid.
Bed sheets and linen are provided and included in the price of the room/dorm, and the private rooms are all equipped with air conditioning, free wifi and storage areas for your belongings.
The water heating system of the hostel is run by a solar heater, so you can have amazing hot showers during the day, but not so much at night!
The property has two shared bathrooms and a separate WC.
There are laundry facilities within the hostel, and we ask for a payment of two euros per wash.
We have free parking on site.
There is a communal kitchen with fridge, oven, plates and utensils to be used by all our guests.
An outdoor swimming pool with loungers (for all the sun worshippers), surrounded by stunning views of nature.
A large terrace which hosts our dining area and barbeques; large balconies surround the entire property.
A garden area with hammocks for lazy afternoons.
A large living room where you can either listen to music, spend time on the internet or chat with fellow guests.

E.Gwada hostels has two buildings in Le Gosier, Guadeloupe with one, La Chapelle, situated in the small and charming town of Mare Gaillard, surrounded by forests, fruit trees, sunshine and iguanas. The second one, Labrousse, is situated in Bas du Fort with an elevated and panoramic view of Basse Terre which stretches to the sea. In a peaceful setting, yet close to the marina and the nightlife of Pointe a Pitre.

The hostel has staff who speak a variety of languages from English to French to German to Italian to answer and satisfy any of your queries, or simply to chat and share stories with.
Though each individual guest is free to do whatever they feel like, we pride ourselves on being able to bring our guests together to become friends, which is why we offer tours and excursions whether it's to the closeby forests for hiking and picnicking, or the surrounding five beaches where you can learn (or show off your skills!) kite surfing, wind surfing and regular surfing. Or simply swim and sunbathe, it's also available to make tours to the surrounding islands. The daily programme is available upon your arrival.
We also host barbeques, dinners and breakfasts on the terrace to share coffee with sleepy tourists. More details upon your arrival.

Map & Directions
For those who do not have a car upon coming to E.Gwada, we offer transport from the airport (and back to the airport when you depart) for 25 euros one way, as long as available. If you wish to take this option you must either write to us by email or phone us to book the transfer.
Otherwise we also have a taxi that can be booked for 35 euros, which also requires booking in advance.
The regular taxi price from Pointe a Pitre airport to our hostel is a minimum of 50 euros.
The distance from Pointe a Pitre to here is roughly 10 kilometres, so if you are driving yourself go on the main road and head in the direction of Gosier.
After Gosier it is about 2.5 kilometres and you continue going straight (do not turn where it says Gosier Centre) for Mare Gaillard. You will see signs.
Upon reaching the town you will take the first right, and up the hill you will see a church on your left, you follow the road and when you reach the road called Impasse de la Chapelle, you take the right on the Y. Continue going on straight and go around the corner (you can only go left!) and after 10 seconds you will reach a steep downwards slope which leads you directly to the gate of E.Gwada!
