Day 2: Amman city tour, Madaba & Mount Nebo, Kerak, Then to Petra
Check out of your hotel after breakfast. and we start the day with touring the capital of Jordan, visiting both Old & New Amman, starting with the West side, and ending with the Citadel, Archaeological Museum, Roman Theater, and Folklore Museums, and the Downtown.
Then we head south to the market town of Madaba, traveling along the King’s Highway ��" once a vitally important trade route in the Middle East. Often called the ‘City of Mosaics,’ the city owes it popularity to an incredible mosaic map of the Holy Land that carpets the floor of St George’s Church. Head inside the church to see it for yourself, and hear about the ancient biblical sites from your guide.
After stopping for lunch in town (own expense), continue traveling to Mount Nebo ��" the hill where Moses was said to have been granted a view of the Promised Land. Stop to admire views of the Jordan Valley, seeing the ancient lands of Judah and Jericho,
Afterwards, we continue south via Kings way & Mujeb valleys to Kerak, and we visit the Huge Crusader Castle before arriving Petra for overnight. (B)
Day 3: Petra & Wadi Rum
Begin the day with a walk through the mysterious mile-long Siq, the narrow gorge with towering sandstone walls which leads into the ancient capital city of the Nabatean trading empire. Explore the Khazneh (the temple of Indiana Jones fame), Theater, Colonnaded Street and Museum. After lunch, climb to ad-Deir (the Monastery), Petra’s largest carved façade.
Then we drive to Wadi Rum,arriving to our remote camp site deep in the heart of the Wadi Rum. We enjoy a magical evening under the brilliant stars of the desert night sky, including a scrumptious traditional Jordanian dinner. Overnight - Wadi Rum (B, D)
Day 4: from Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea, and then to Amman
Breakfast at the camp, We make a morning jeep tour or camels ride *Optional* of this moonscape desert terrain, Then transfer to the Dead Sea which sits 400 meters below sea level. The Dead Sea is one of the most incredible places in the world. It is known for the Biblical story of the destruction of Sodom and Amora, which was turned into salt. The Dead Sea speaks for itself; there is no living fish! It is by far one of Jordan's most impressive and spectacular places to visit. Its calm shining water glowing from its scorching sun above, is known for the concentration of salt and minerals which makes it a therapeutic as well as a unique swimming experience not to be missed! Free time to swim (4-5 hours) before returning to your hotel in Amman for overnight. (B)
Day 5: Amman
Breakfast at the hotel, our driver will transfer you to Amman Airport before 3-4 hours of your departure flight time, (check out time is 12 noon).
